Adding an OEM CD player

Has anyone installed an OEM CD player? I assume there is already a harness in the glove compartment and it should be plug and play?

Re: Adding an OEM CD player

I just finished removing my OEM CD player a month ago. Don't know if the harness would be there or not. One way to find out. Nikon has a great post on here with pictures and detailed instructions on how to remove it.

There's a few posts about guys removing them but haven't seen any that were installing them.

My OEM CD player is available if your interested.

Just noticed that you posted this in the SRT section and you appear to have a 3.6 WK2. You might have more replies in the JGC WK2 section.

Cheers

Re: Adding an OEM CD player

I am shopping for a SRT but want the CD player. It seems lots of SRTs do not have cd player so I will just add one.

And I search the forum for "cd player" and nothing comes up

Re: Adding an OEM CD player

I have removed mine as all the AU delivered ones have them standard.

I would doubt that the non fitted ones come with the harness, as it is a factory fitted item. If you want one, you will need to find one already fitted, as I expect it will be very difficult to get the wiring done right. I would just rip all your CD's to a SD card or iPod and enjoy all the music in one place. The CD player also takes up 7/8th of the centre console.

Re: Adding an OEM CD player

Anyone have pics of the console with the CD player removed? It seemed to me that there was going to be a void in there if removed?

Re: Adding an OEM CD player

I used THIS thread to change mine over. It shows a pic of the CD removed.

Re: Adding an OEM CD player

I did the same as ENFORCER using the same thread he links to. That link also shows you just how much room you will lose by having a CD player.
