@ Darkue, I cant be 100% certain for your country. Logic says yes, but we all know how stupid Jeep/Chrysler can be with these things sometimes. As for the SCM I thought it was included in that kit, but I may be wrong.

PLEASE anyone who wants to do this, look into it long and hard and be certain it works before you try it. I doubt you can hurt anything, but it's better to be sure than sorry right? lol
I presume if it won't work with aussie my14, then aussie spec my15 may well be the same. Once I get back in the country at Xmas time, I wil talk to my Dealer and see if it's possible. Seems too easy a option to have, but I always wondered if it's a aussie issue with government regulations and the whole nanny state thing.......

Re: Adding Remote start but sacrificing the trunk button ?

If the Aust vehicles had the module, I'm sure my programmer would do it. I haven't plugged into my GC yet as I've only had it two weeks, but I need to experiment to see if it pulls the immo pin code which is the biggie.

The software on my tool certainly displays the Fiat system and shows the prox fob with the remote start button.

From Mopar web site :

Fully integrated, OEM tested, Remote Start system allows you to start your vehicle from as far away as 300 feet with just the push of a button. Imagine starting and warming your vehicle from your place of work or home on cold winter days, or cooling the same vehicle on hot summer days. Mopar`s Remote Start system is designed to work with your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram or Fiat vehicle and interface seamlessly with your vehicle`s electronic, security key. Vehicle must have Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System (Sales Code GXX)
Additional Details: Complete Kit, same as production, for vehicles built after 7/15/2013. Must have Keyless Go (GX4) or Proximity Keyless (GXD)
Disclosure(s): Dealer Scan Tool required for activation.
Remote Start (XBM) can ONLY be installed on vehicles that have the following factory options: -- Automatic Transmission -- Remote Keyless Entry

No not this. Just poking my head in here after reading the thread. My 2015 KL Limited has the remote start option so clearly ok as far as Aust compliance goes.

Yes that's what we wanted to hear SJandL.

If 72HR works out a crack code then we may have an Oz solution.

So they can get it for you if they want but you just have to insist or maybe pay a little more than their price for the remote start key fob without the trunk release key.

Which one did you go to ? Rashidiya or SZR ? Can you PM me the name of the guy you spoke to so at least he has an idea what I'm talking about ? Most of the time they are clueless about this car ....

Remote Start, Same as Production - 82214097 | Mopar

Do you think that I can buy this and let them install whatever they have ? Or would it be incompatible ?

I also went to SZR and asked the same thing while ago in the showroom, all they told me that I will loose the trunk button.

After doing some research I went back but this time to Al Manara Service Centre and asked again.. Obviously same answer as the showroom...I told him what if I want the original key with all the buttons and he said they don't have it. I said that on Mopar website they sell all the kit.. are you able to activate this? he said YES then you pay only for labour...

I spoke with Mohammed Shafeer - 04 501 7104 give him a call and see what he says.

That was in Abu Dhabi service center but they had to consult the Accessories Manager in Dubai (his name is Shishir if I remember correctly), look for him in SZR branch..
I think the kit above is the same one they'll install here, you can get it and give to them to install it for you (they charge AED200/hour) but you better confirm with them first before you buy it..

So they learned the lesson now and they inform the customer of losing the trunk release button before they proceed and install the kit..
I keep giving those idiots some lessons every time I take my Jeep there for service or to fix something
