I have asked him for aspherical mirrors... all he told me is: you have the part number? NO, ok ok i need number.... Useless

☺☺ Typical answer!!
But still the guys in the workshop (techs and workers) are much much worse.. almost everytime they repair something, they break/damage something else!
I have a long list of stories like that after dealing with them for 1 year only, but that will be off-topic..
Just wish Darkhue good luck negotiating with them to get the remote start kit with 5 buttons key fob..

I keep giving those idiots some lessons every time I take my Jeep there for service or to fix something

Thanks guys. Yeah I'll check with them, maybe I should print the part number and item web page and go there physically, otherwise trying email is quite useless... Oh and I'll give that number a call. So both of you went to the SZR one right ? (just by al manara street basically).

I spent two weeks trying to explain to them what a catch can is and that adding such an item doesn't hurt the engine or void warranty. Hahaha, I wish we had the same experts advertised in the US, I wish I can speak to someone at the service center with at least 25% understanding to how the jeep works.

I think the best option is to print it out and take it straight to them so they know what you talking about.. Yes, I went to al manara Jeep Service. That guy Mohammed (service advisor) works there. Hopefully he can help.. Good luck

Well I spoke to him and got the mixed answers. First he denied any knowledge of such mod existing. Also that he doesn't guarantee that this will work, although they demanded 3k. I asked them what would happen if that didn't work ? He said that he wouldn't know because they never did this before. And finally, he came up with an amazing conclusion that they can program the remote with the remote start, and keep the original with the trunk button; so that I can carry two fobs at once with one having the trunk and the other having the remote start
I proposed that I purchase the item from MOPAR and have them install it, he said that warranty will be void unless it is purchased from the local dealership/service center store .....

Anyway, I gave up on this as it's quite hilariously frustrating.

Typical Dealer BS!! Don't give up, go to the Accessories Manager (I think his name is Shishir) and tell him they already done that (the 5 buttons key fob) in Abu Dhabi service center and he was involved and also the technician who programmed it came from Dubai branch!
If you want I can PM you more details and even my plate number so they can check in their system..

Sorry to hear that.. the whole service centre in al manara is a joke...

BTW i cannot believe that they will void the warranty after installing official MOPAR part...

Re: Adding Remote start but sacrificing the trunk button ?

I'm in the Middle East and had the remote start fitted. It took them a while as they had to change the ignition module but I did not lose any of the controls and still have trunk release.

That's great- good job seeing it through. What did it cost in US$ if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Adding Remote start but sacrificing the trunk button ?

Fitting was just under $180. Kit was normal price from Mopar, can't remember exactly what.

A friend of mine has just bought a new SRT and is going to get the factory remote start fitted soon - I'll ask hime the current cost and what (if any) features are lost
