I just ordered this a few days ago and saw randomly on a thread that 2016 is NOT supported? Is this for certain and is there a workaround or should I refuse the order when it comes in and go with another brand? I was pretty excited about this CAI based on reviews but I'm hearing 2016 is not compatible.

I had a AFE Momentum GT CAI on my 2014 and I removed it before picking up my 2016. After seeing the thread that Solis referred to above where someone mentioned that it fit on their 2016, I tried to install it on mine. It does NOT fit.

I dropped a note to AFE and they said that they are "working on the 2016's but the engineers are not giving a projected release date yet".

So what would you all recommend if anything then? I'd like to net some hp through intake and exhaust or just exhaust. I do want to keep warranty and don't expect a lot of gains as a result. Just sound and a few 10ths off my times.

I just installed an AFE catback, jeep feels lighter on its feet. Here is the dyno sheet.
Actually lost power immediately after the install. We revved it a little throughout the gears and rpms so that the ecu can adjust and then it made power on the second run. It should squeeze out a few more once the ecu is fully calibrated. It makes power throughout the whole power band which is good and between 5000-5400 it really breathes.

So after talking with my brother in law last I asked if his friend who is a tech at the shop who did his CAI did any modification he said yes it took him about 3 hours to do it. That's how they made it fit on his 2016 after all. He is not sure what they did but they made work and it works well.

What I recall when I tried to put the AFE CAI in my 2016 was that a bracket on the driver side fender and the washer bottle that prevented the CAI from seating completely. It fell short by about 1 CM and prevents the hood from closing properly. I didn't try to modify anything to make it fit. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the folks at AFE are apparently working on an engineered solution for +16s. I assume that the under-the-hood configuration of 2017s is the same as 2016s and that there is an incentive for AFE (and others) to work on a solution.

Great to hear. I'll be in line for one and the catback as well.
