Re: Affiliate pricing

Does anyone know if there is something like this available to do for Canadian dealers?

Re: Affiliate pricing

My wife's employer was a corporate affiliate of Chrysler back in 2008 when we bought her Liberty and my Wrangler Unlimited. All of their employees were eligible for affiliate pricing. We got a combined total of almost $6,000.00 off of the 2 vehicles. Unfortunately, her employers affiliate relationship ended with the Chrysler bankruptcy and it hasn't been re-negotiated since. They still have affiliate relationships with GMC and Ford, but who wants one of those?

Your best chance is at a super high volume dealer, or one that you have had a long relationship with that would like to return the favor to you.

My question is: What does " 3-year Individual Members are eligible" mean?? I take that to mean you must have been an individual (one person enrolled) member of Tread Lightly for 3 years before you can receive the first Affiliate Pricing Vehicle (it would prevent people from doing exactly what is occurring in this thread). in other words, no affiliate pricing for your new SRT8 purchase until 16 May 2014.
My dealer told me you have to be a member for 30 days prior to the purchase. That is all he is required to show for proof.

He also said he will be ordering at least one and will be calling me for the test drive when it arrives. He will only let current SRT owners test drive it!

The dealer isn't really telling the whole story. The control number generated by the affiliate website or a person from Chrysler on the other end of the phone is what your dealer needs in combination with proof of your treadlightly membership to be able to submit the paperwork to Chrysler to get their stipend for doing the deal. Just showing the dealer your membership without the control number doesn't work. IF that's all your dealer is asking for then they are honoring the price but not participating with Chrysler. Why they would do that is beyond me but some do.

I've used affiliate pricing with Ford, GM, Chrysler, Mazda, Volvo and Nissan and the Chrysler program is probably the loosest with regard to dealer participation and corporate enforcement. It's only when you get into employee pricing, executive rewards and one time retiree discounts (up to $25K!) where they get serious.

With affiliate pricing being 1% below invoice price and REQUIRING the dealer to apply ALL factory incentives some dealers appear to be honoring the price when in reality they are not submitting the paperwork and pocketing incentives since they don't have to comply on a "normal" sale.

I'm not saying it happens often but since Chrysler doesn't publish those on the affiliate site like Ford and GM do it becomes the dealers word against yours whether you are getting everything you are entitled to.

Regardless, I love the programs because I never have to haggle over price. I pick the dealership I want to do business with based on customer service and never end up buying from a crappy dealer just because they had the lowest price in the area.

Re: Affiliate pricing

Sounds like a good deal. I already get this pricing though Perks of the pops working for the biz. Some dealers can be pricks though and try and sham you out of it but stick to your guns.

Re: Affiliate pricing

Just doing the quick math here, but doesn't isn't the discounted price pretty close to $500 below invoice like Champion Dodge use to offer?

in this case, probably close, but it depends on the car. Take whatever you think the invoice price is for said car, move the decimal 2 spots to the left, and that is your discount. If the SRT8's invoice is $46,000....your discount is $460 = $45,540. That discount is not the game changer for me. The game changer for me is that it is non-negotiable if accepted. You don't' have to haggle back and forth to beat them down to an agreed upon price below MSRP. You automatically skip that and "discount" down to invoice plus the 1%. I'm happy with invoice minus rebates. I already know going in when I buy a car what the price is, if I am not willing to pay that, then I won't even think about purchasing.

have contacted 3 dealers. None have responded with a willingness to orderor talk further (blows my mind), I said I would not pay over MSRP but the zest to get a sale still wasn't there even before that. They absolutely denied Affiliate pricing. I wonder if the owners of these dealerships know their sales staff is acting like this? I'm essentially a "lay down" buyer. It doesn't get any easier than that! I might give it a couple more tries, and then Jeep will simply lose a sale for now. I'm not a "gotta have it" person and when things get to a ridiculous level to obtain I say screw it and move on.

Re: Affiliate pricing

My dealer has confirmed the affiliate pricing. One order has been placed.

And isnt affiliate pricing off of invoice, meaning dealer invoice?

Orders can't be placed yet, just deposits!

Re: Affiliate pricing

This is sweet!
So...Dealer invoice has to be around 48K with all the options.
That's a lot of truck for under 50K!
