After work fun

I usually get off work at 3:30am est. I drove the beast in to work. Around the back of the plant is a nice stretch of road that is usually pretty deserted, just used for incoming parts to the plant. Why not play with launch control? First run I cranked the RPMs up all the way and did a 4.6 0-60. Not my best run at all. Hard to keep it from lurching forward on launch. Second run I reset the RPMs and ran a 4.3 best run yet with 852 miles on her. I'm really happy, and then my phone rings my boss has a SRT Crossfire and says "if you feel froggy I'll be back there in ten seconds. We line them up from a dead stop and go on 3. Using launch control I take him off the line and stay close to 3 car lengths ahead till I hit 90 and start braking. He says that was all I had I can't take you from a dead stop with that AWD. He obviously got some wheel spin. Let's do a rolling from 20 mph start I say, knowing it would be much closer if not a loss for me. His 330 hp and half the weight was really going to come into play now. He got me by a half length to 80 before braking. Fast little coupe. He comments on how good the Borlas sound. Lesson learned, go from a dead stop if you are racing to take advantage of the AWD not that rolling start crap. All in all, was a fun end to a shift. Wish all my nights ended like that :-D

Re: After work fun

Sounds fun. I've had a similar experience with my buddy and his 2011 5.0 Mustang. From a dig, I leave him in the dust and he can't catch me before 90+mph. Anything over 20mph and it is the opposite.

(I kinda want to switch rides with him once though and show him how to drive his own car )

Ran against a 2012-2013 SVT Mustang this morning from like 65mph - 120 mph. I kept up but he got me. Those things are fast !!! Gave each other the respectable thumbs up and parted ways

I have a 05 mustang gt and I kept getting smoked 0-60 when my wife raced me in her 2012 jeep. Well not no more. I put 4:10 in and everything I could NA and now I smoke her 0-60 but after that she is gone. Now I gotta work on getting the jeep quicker. 87mm TB, Hennessy Cai, headers, Corsa cat back, diablo custom tune still isn't cutting it.

4:10s in a 5 speed seems a little steep if you drive it often. You must use 5th gear just driving around town ;-)

There's no such thing as a 2012-2013 SVT Mustang. The last SVT badged cars were the 2003-2004 Terminators. It was either a V6 or 5.0 with lame badges. My guess it was a 305hp V6. Since 2005, SVT = Shelby GT500 and you wouldn't have even been close whether it was the 550hp 2011-2012, or the 662hp 2013-2014 like mine. Particularly from 65-120mph where the lighter weight, gearing, and supercharger are going to flourish. I can go from 75 to 140, on a 3rd gear pull, in less time than our SRTs go from 0-60mph.

This thing definitely wasn't no V6 that's for damn sure with the way this thing pulled. It said svt on the back but it looked just like a cobra. Either way doesn't matter. Thing looked awesome sounded incredible and was fast!
