Sorry another question did the tech have to plug the vehicle to there computer to find out the updates or did they come up when he searched your vin on the computer. I called and they told me from just the vin there no recalls or updates but might be if they hook my car up and check is this true?

Thanks for the detailed explanation of the five updates SRTBLK. I really thought one of the updates was for the engine management power curve. It's not my imagination, but my engine is now more responsive when you floor it at any speed. I don't see how the transmission update alone could produce this improvement.

The transmission and limited slip differential done together are quite impressive: the shifts are silky smooth, the new shift points are barely noticeable, and "clunks" and other noises seem to be completely removed from the drive train.

All in all, I'm pleased with these updates, and glad I could pass on the news on them. It's the first time I've had a "breaking news" alert on this forum.

I don't have anywhere near my home where I can do timed runs safely, not even 0 to 60. If you do any timed runs, could you post them. After driving for a week, I really believe that the engine has a more aggressive power curve. Thanks.

By the way, the fifth update is for the rear lift gate module. The technician did this at his own initiative during my state inspection. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Took it this morning they confirmed they had those 5 updates and another one for ac. Excited to drive it later after all the positive and great feedback from it. Thanks again bighemi2!! Would have never known about this if it wasn't for you👍👍

Glad I could be of help. After you drive for awhile, let us know how you like the updates. I wasn't aware of the one for the a/c. What does it do?

Well just picked it up and immediately I can tell a difference. Car is shifting much smoother and there's no lag at 20mph. The throttle feels a lot more responsive like if it was in track mode. Haven't tried out sport or track yet but will Deff let you know when I compare 0 to 60 pulls later this weekend. The beast pulls a lot harder and Deff on the highway I can get to 100 a lot quicker then before. I'll drive it a full week to see if there anymore benefits from the updates but right now I'm a happy camper haha. As for the ac update it was a automatic temperature control module update. I'm guessing its for adjusting the temperature in the cabin?

Was able to do one run in same location I always do it. not ideal conditions, ground moist, freezing rain, auto mode smash gas pedal and got 4.2 0-60. I think under ideal conditions will get 4.1 easily. Feels like it pulls harder and shifts are smoother...

What times on your 0 to 60 pulls were you getting before the update

Re: Alert: Module Software Updates for 2012

Did anyone try out track and sport mode yet with the new update. I don't know why but I feel like the car runs faster now in auto then sport or track? Also back pressure has reduced and the pops are gone which I got from the headers and borlas. Honestly feel like a got a custom tune done lmao.

I generally drive in Auto mode, and it really does feel like a custom tune. I wish I had a safe place to test 0 to 60. I'm equally impressed by the improvement to the drivetrain...silky smooth shifts and not a clunk or noise anywhere. With only a few of us on this thread, there could be 2995 other owners of 2012 SRTs out there unaware of these updates.

Any new reports of 0-60 times in GOOD conditions?
