Re: Almost GO TIME...Ripp supercharger inhand and ready for install

Install went well. All finished up and dynoed. Numbers on the dyno were great but for some reason the power just doesn't seem to transfer to the road when driving. 0-60 times actually got slower after install. Working with RIPP to see if we can pinpoint an issue but so far no luck. Three dyno runs after install were 542, 554, and 567.5 all awd hp. Very impressive but resulting in a 0-60 best of only 4.2 on the evic when I was consistently 4.0-4.1 with just a bwoody and 189 stat.

Thanks for update. Wonder if it's in the tuning and torque management factors limiting it.

We originally tested in RWD (not to be shady), we thought you guys wanted to see HP numbers.... In reality its a 140hp(-/+) gain over stock either way you look at it.

At the moment - we have a NA SRT at the shop with ARH-Headers, GTAuto exhaust, B-Woody Cold-Air intake and Diablo. It yielded 350AWD-WHP . With this vehicle we hope to demonstrate the RIPP WHP gain from mod'd to boosted. Which is why we say the verdict is still out on mods in our opinion and literally the reason we show the value of our kit in WHP form.... Mods in our opinion should be fun and deliver and immediate pleasure from the purchase to the end user experience.... THAT is ultimately our goal. We've been fielding calls from end users who have installed similar mods to our current (clients) in house tester and they have percevibly been let down. It boils back to the previous thread, where the once owner of an SRT went full out and was very let down, he then sold the vehicle and bought a .... Nissan. That's BS to us... Mods should back their HP levels up, not just be there soaking up space and capitol for the sake of being there (right?).

Why do you take the position you're a downer - it is what it is...

This is correct guys - we're going to be limiting the out of the box power to keep things safe right now. As we all mature and understand that there are mechanical limits to the engine that we are all collectively not interested in touching right now, we are dialed in at 4-6psi peak with a medium sized compressor. There will be plenty of time to collectively grow and build up (for those that choose to). Thankfully, a lot of the 5.7-6.4 has already been mapped out and we already have a 1 year growth plan in both compressor and engine components... Josh at HHP is already building a 6.4 and ordered a Tuner's package and soon we'll see those numbers...

But first things first, lets get all you guys running soundly.

1100lbs/ft of torque - Breaks everything - We don't think we're gonna be close to that. But again, this applies to the above position. We want to be the rational kit and then offer the options to grow.

14Stormtroopers Kit ships Tuesday - Mike took his kit because he's close and we wanted the end user install experience close. We also dialed in our packing sheet with him, he's a lot closer if something is missing (but it looks well sorted)

The reality is on we've been on back order with our JK kits and 30 kits shipped between Thursday and Friday - Mike can attest we were swamped.

There are 11 other Pre-Production SRT kits shipping all over the country over the next 10 days - They have been targeted for climate and elevation - Our next batch will likely be ready in about 20-30 days. As end user experience starts to circle back .

The 5.7 kits are still being dialed in - We feel there are some internal tuning speed bumps we are working through - We have the Durango in house sorting them out and the 5.7 GC is driving around and reporting with logs.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity guys, we look forward to meeting/exceeding your expectations. Have a great weekend....

RIPPTECH
Any update on the 3.6 WK2 kit? I'm sure your swamped with the SRT kits now

Re: Almost GO TIME...Ripp supercharger inhand and ready for install

I would like to see 1/4 mile times. Something as simple as weather conditions and traction could make the 0-60 times close to the same.

I think I know what mods I'll be starting with. Keep us in the loop. Very interested in seeing how this works out.

I second this, but... Hennessy claims a 3.9 second 0-60 in their HPE650 package (on a 5-speed), easily duplicated with a magnuson some heads a header back and a tune.

I wonder if the tune allows for more correction on the 12s and 13s, he has special tuning abilities, or he is lying?

Keep working on it guys we have faith

Just a quick update for everybody. Spoke to Ross at RIPP this morning and himself along with the calibrator at Diablo have put together a new tune and are confident it address some of the torque and power management issues that are limiting the trucks potential. I have it loaded in the truck but it's been a really wet week here in NJ so I just need to see some sunshine and find some downtime from work and it will report back.
