Almost GO TIME...Ripp supercharger inhand and ready for install

Just wanted to fill anybody in that was skeptical about the Ripp supercharger kit. I picked mine up from Ross today at their shop. I was told that with the exception of his truck and black mamba's (which are both already installed and running perfectly)..I have the first kit produced and others that were preordered will be shipped in the next few days. I had the luxury of picking mine up as their shop is only a little over an hour away. Anyway..brought it home and semi unboxed everything and so far I like what I see. The materials used are high quality not cheap overseas junk. NGK iridium plugs (by the way I learned something new today..did you know that are SRT's have 16 spark plugs?), Siemens 80lb injectors, Diablosport T1000 for tuning, etc. all the welds on the piping are nice and smooth and the intercooler is a real piece of art. Can't wait to see how it looks behind the blacked out grill. I am a DYI guy and will be doing the install myself. According to the directions and guys at his shop it's probably 5-8 install time depending on your automotive skills. Was hoping to start on the install this weekend but already have plans with the family for the holiday weekend. Gonna start on the simple stuff like changing injectors, plugs, etc after work a few days next week. If all goes well, setting aside next Saturday and Sunday for the remainder of the install. I will try to take a bunch of pics and offer up any shortcuts or hints to make the installation easier if I run across them. Any questions, feel free to ask. Looks sweet! Tom promised me a ride in his truck when he gets his RIPP kit installed. I can't wait. Oh and as far as I know the HEMI's (5.7, 6.1, 6.4) have all had 2 spark plugs per cylinder going back to 2005 when the first came out I think.

Re: Almost GO TIME...Ripp supercharger inhand and ready for install

I think you are right. Just never worked on one before and caught me off guard when I saw 16 spark plugs in the box. I know Tom said he is taking his truck to a buddies shop and gonna work along side him for the install. Before you know it there will be a handful of supercharged SRT's pounding the pavement.

That's the plan. Ross' SRT put down 530 rwhp with the front driveshaft disabled thru the trinity tuner...and 493 awd hp in awd. Very impressive numbers. After my install I am taking my truck to his shop for some dyno time.

Re: Almost GO TIME...Ripp supercharger inhand and ready for install

This is very exciting. I'm also a DIY'er with this in my plan later this year so as many tips/pictures as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Next step in testing is gonna be add a set of American Racing Headers to the mix and tuning for those. Should be able to crank up the boost a little more (safely) because the engine will be able to breathe a little better thru headers than exhaust manifolds. Only time will tell.

Not to be a downer, but even with full tuning, you're only going to go so high before you have to start putting in forged internals. And from what I have been told it isn't too much more. But the kit is still amazing congrats to those who have purchased.
