Re: Alternatives to the overpriced WK2 SRT8

If any of you want performance then get a real sports car.

Porsche 911
Dodge Viper
Chevrolet Corvette
Nissan GTR
Lambo
Ferrari

If you want a sedan or an suv then get a reasonable one.

All of those other cars are dumb.

Re: Alternatives to the overpriced WK2 SRT8

I'd rather have a Viper over a Corvette.

Oh yea, me too. I forgot the Viper. I don't want a Corvette, but felt it's worth listing as a true sports car.

And you're right. It is a true sports car.

Re: Alternatives to the overpriced WK2 SRT8

Best value for the money: Corvette Z06

Money is no object: Ferrari F430

Most fun: Porsche 911 GT3 RS

But I think we are getting away from the original question......

Yeah, that sure is a beast.

To me alternatives are powerful SUV's...things like the X5 and Cayenne, though those things are in a different price range. So as Scott said in his other thread, not much else out there in this performance range/price. I do agree though that a lot of people tend to mention the S5 as I too have looked at that as an option. Maybe because it is close in price and performance though not an SUV.

Just my 2 cents.

Porsche 911 (A little pricey)
Dodge Viper (Can someone really drive one of these even 200 days per year?)
Chevrolet Corvette (I am not 50 yrs old)
Nissan GTR (On the list)

I have done the multiple car thing. I never would really drive the sports car, so the Jeep was a good compromise (fast and you can drive it everyday).

The new 911 (991) is supposed to have more interior room, but is too pricey (and not released yet) to be on the list.

Re: Alternatives to the overpriced WK2 SRT8

^^^^^^

I am not a corvette guy, but the new Z06 is not for the 50yr old man......

Furthermore, it would be like saying anyone driving a Mercedes is an old fart.....

Disclaimer: I am a porsche guy.......

The 2012 911 is already released and in the United States. And it's my dream car. I will wait several years and then look for a used 2012 911 Carrera as an extra fun car to keep mostly garaged.
