Re: Annoying Squeak

Thanks CMK 74....I will try the dealer and see how it goes. Did you self diagnose or did the dealer figure it out on their own?

Thanks

Gordon

Did they take care of the greasy paw prints they left behind last time?

Re: Annoying Squeak

I am mostly posting this for people who own a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a sun roof that makes a squeaky noise while doing typical driving. I own a 2009 GC with this issue, and it was very annoying to drive around with this noise directly above my head. fficeffice" />>>

First can you recreate the noise but doing the following: Place your hand flat on the underside of the sun roof and gently apply pressure up and the release, do this quickly many times in succession to simulate vibrations from driving around. If you can hear the squeak, then most likely you have the same issue I had. >>

I have seen other post about lubing and cleaning the tracks for the sun roof, but this is a different issue. The sunroof has a vent feature that tilts the sun roof up in the back to vent the air, and the mechanism that lifts the sunroof was squeaking, as I drove around. Basically there are hinges that lift up the sun roof located at the back of the sun roof. >>
To fix, engage the vent feature on the sun roof, and watch the mechanism as it lifts the sun roof. Spray the mechanism, with silicone spray, or some other lube. Close the sun roof and try to recreated the noise again…it should be gone. >>

With the sunroof shade (roof panel) in the open position, I can pull down on the sunroof rails and the squeak disappears. Anyone experience this and been able to resolve it?

Thanks a bunch

Had the same problem..with the sunroof close I sprayed some wd40 were the track closes the sunroof problem gone
