Question Any particular brand/type of High Temperature paint to coat exhausts ?

I am planning to find a garage that can coat a BORLA ATAK exhaust system with black chrome. Some of you guys suggested High Temperature paint which can sustain high temperatures with no discolouration and comes in black chrome.

Any particular name or brand that I should ask for ? Are all High Temperature paints the same ?

Hmmm. Would ceramic coating be the best then ?

Re: Any particular brand/type of High Temperature paint to coat exhausts ?

Ceramic coating would be the only way to keep a finish on the exhaust. Painting will just look crap after 12 months. I would hate to see the cost however of getting a whole system ceramic coated, as it is not an easy process.

Well Maryland has such coating service, total is $760. Is that a reasonable price ?

Re: Any particular brand/type of High Temperature paint to coat exhausts ?

it depends on what you are trying to achieve.
If this is a show car, then yes I guess it is a good price, however it is a lot of cash to spend on vanity for an exhaust system.
Personally I would spend cash on things people see, rather than the exhaust.

Vht Flameproof is a Diy ceramic spray available at auto parts stores for about $10. I'd probably give that a try.

Re: Any particular brand/type of High Temperature paint to coat exhausts ?

I had mine black powder coated and it has stayed black as the first day. The guy used a high temp resistant matte black and my only issue is it get dusty and most car washes don't do a good job cleaning exhaust area. Been nearly a year so far and it is great

Oh, should have said, powder coating was $160 total. $80 for each side of the borla, included sandblasting to etch it. $760 seems really high!
