Re: Are the lease-numbers on jeep.com confirmed?

Anyone with recent lease numbers out there? I am interested in a SRT but have a hard time getting out there to deal.

Lease calculator on website is not accurate. Like many on here have said financing is the way to go. Think of it as leasing to yourself. You have to do the numbers for yourself but in most cases financing is the way to go. there maybe a scenario where you lease through a business, write it off then buy it at the end of lease where you may come out better but you need to run the numbers to see which situation works out for your individual situation.

Re: Are the lease-numbers on jeep.com confirmed?

Wasn't looking for a lecture on the negatives of leasing.

Just curious if anyone had solid real world numbers of what is currently being offered so I can use my own situation to determine what is best.

Re: Are the lease-numbers on jeep.com confirmed?

sure understood, when i was looking at 2012's 39 month lease, 15K miles/year was around 1300/month. was thinking about trading up for a 2014 and those leases were around 1200/month for 36 month lease, 15K miles/year. this is what i remember off the top of my head with minimum down and all options minus rear dvd and 3 season tires.

Re: Are the lease-numbers on jeep.com confirmed?

Who the hell puts money down on a lease, let alone $11,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whole point of a lease is to "rent" a new, warranty clad, higher priced car for your dollar, then move on to the next. I can't think of a reason putting $11k down on a lease makes sense.

$11,000 down payment on a traditional buy, at invoice, will net you the same monthly payment. And you have equity in the truck in 39mths.

I just worked a lease yesterday on a $70k MSRP SRT, was just about $1200, $5k down 39 mos/15k miles...he didn't get it. Same unit, $0 down $1100 month for 72. He asked for $800, and it was a short conversation after that since he didn't want to go 96 months months to get there.

More down would have got him there!!

Re: Are the lease-numbers on jeep.com confirmed?

I am not against leasing, have done it in the past and it does make sense if you know why you are doing it. But $11k down would have been better with a buy unless one has absolutely crap credit score and can't get a rate of 2% or so on 72mths.

Numbers approx., but pretty damn close.
Total at invoice + reg/titles/tags/6% sales tax = $71125
Dp - $11,500
$59,625

$59,265 / 72mths at 2% = $875 a month.
after 39 moths you owe $28,046. At that point you can probably STILL get $12,000+ back in your pocket as trade in allowance or cash via sale (more than the $11k you put as a DP) as the truck should still easily be worth $40k+.
