Re: Australian SRT issues

Dealer told me today that he has ordered the parts. Let see how long that takes.

Today, the cruise control won't work now. It has worked before. I am guessing it is all related so hopefully once the parts arrive it will be all good.

Also lost the SRT apps today

Has anyone else got the problem with the air con where every time you get back in the car it goes to 21 degrees. Does not keep its memory.

Re: Australian SRT issues

Well got my beast back today after being at the dealer since Monday.

Everything is now working as it should.

Replaced the left rear shock
Replaced the clock spring in the steering
Re-aligned the rear tail gate
Fixed the rear door trims
Adjusted the centre console door so it is straight
Replaced the silver trim around the gear stick, drink holders etc
Replaced the drivers side rear interior door handle

I can now fully fall in love with my truck.

Very happy with the service I was given at Suttons Rosebery in the end. Was a bit worried at one stage but after talking with the manager in length and getting to know him it all fell into place.

Hope I haven't jinxed it know. Touch wood!

Re: Australian SRT issues

Hi everyone.

Any other Aussie SRT owners had the deceleration whine? I've posted about mine on another thread but no reply yet.

So f'cked with this that I feel like I want to get rid of the car.

Any answers?

Cheers

Re: Australian SRT issues

I just took mine in for its first service, they flashed the tranny and updated the the uconnect software, and now my aircon doesn't work as well as it did before the service. Weird. On another note was charged about 550 bucks for a first service.. A simple oil change, nothing else had to be done, I have brand new bwoody, brand new brembo rotors and ceramic pads.. No need to check or replace my new AFE pod filter.. How can they justify $550 for an oil change? Also they don't use the Pennzoil SRT oil at my dealership. I won't be taking it back there from now on unless it's for warranty work. Funnily enough absolutely nothing was mentioned of all the mods I had done to it. I think they didn't even notice the GTHaus bolted on...

Scary that these guys are meant to be the professionals.

Re: Australian SRT issues

Did they give you an invoice with the parts/labour breakdown? Was it a fixed price service? Sounds like BS to me have them explain how it comes to $550. I'm coming off a Lexus which has impeccable but expensive service and they charge $550 for a minor service with a loaner car. Seems pretty rich for a Jeep.

Re: Australian SRT issues

I rang up Fiat Chrysler OZ, who confirmed car could go anywhere, so long as serviced by a qualified mechanic. Don't know why anyone would take it to dealer for service, if you have a good trusting mechanic take it to him, does not impede on warranty. Most dealers are using shitty Castrol here in OZ or Mopar, which they classify as gold and charge for it, we do not get Pennzoil full stop.....not retail anyway.

We don't even have dedicated SRT tech's here in OZ, unlike in America, so what incentive is there to take to dealer to have a general service done, "exceptional customer service" .....to get some young dumb grease monkey apprentice to touch my car and prob screw up a simple oil change...i don't think so. The only time i go to dealer is warranty work and flash updates.

$260.00, with preference of oil and filter, all done whilst I'm under the car with the mechanic.

I'm 100% with you mate. No more dealership services for me. Use them for warranty work only.

Re: Australian SRT issues

Yup, same here. There's some pretty good mechanics around to choose from. Some that specialise in high end cars and appreciate what the owner of a $90k vehicle expects from a service. Hell, I took my last car in to Ultratune once or twice when I first bought it and they did a pretty damn good job for $300 and they were done in 3 hours and didn't leave oil smudges all over the white leather or steering wheel. Even used Mobil One when I asked them to.

Dealer for warranty, anyone else for actual service work.
