Australian SRT issues

Well I have had my car for 5 days now and I think it is time to list the issues with it. Some are cosmetic, some are minor but some are worrying. For an $80k car I can't say that I expected this. I have had cars for far less $$ and not have these issues at all let alone in the first week.

Ley me say though I do love this car. If it wasn't for these issues I would be absolutely raving about it.

Problems;

ESC, light on in the EVIC for the first 304km and still on. Not supposed to be.
Air conditioning, reticulation button comes off by itself.
Rear tailgate out of line on the left. Almost touches the rear bumper.
Warning on startup, "service adaptive damping suspension system". Very worrying, could be shocks.
Misaligned front guards
Rear driver side door, top of door inside trim coming off
Brakes, chips in red Brembo callipers
EVIC fuel consumption green bar on 99 when stopped. Is this right?
Centre console door misaligned
Scratch in stainless centre trim
Park- Handbrake- car moves forward as if the handbrake isn't taking and it rests in Park.
Engine bay- aluminium oxidised, steel rusted. Honestly it looks like the engine block is rusted. Or is it just that colour finish. Surely not.

I will post some photos soon. Just wanted to hear if anyone else have had any of these issues.

Re: Australian SRT issues

ESC, light on in the EVIC for the first 304km and still on. Not supposed to be. - i WOULD TRY TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND SEE IF A RESET FIXES IT. IS THERE ANY OTHER MESSAGES ON THE EVIC ?

Air conditioning, reticulation button comes off by itself. - NORMAL, MY CAR DOES IT AS WELL.

Rear tailgate out of line on the left. Almost touches the rear bumper. HEAPS OF PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED. SEEMS TO BE MORE THE BUMPER THAN THE HATCH ACCORDING TO WHAT I HAVE READ.

Warning on startup, "service adaptive damping suspension system". Very worrying, could be shocks. - NOT NORMAL, COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS A LOSE PLUG, OTHERS HAVE MENTIONED THAT A WIRE SNAPPED ON THEIR REAR SHOCK BRINGING THIS MESSAGE UP.

Misaligned front guards - NOT GOOD, BUT IT CAN BE FIXED.
Rear driver side door, top of door inside trim coming off - NOT GOOD, CAN BE FIXED
Brakes, chips in red Brembo callipers - THAT REALLY SUCKS, AS THE PAINT IS DIFFICULT TO SOURCE.

EVIC fuel consumption green bar on 99 when stopped. Is this right? DUNNO

Centre console door misaligned CAN YOU FIX THIS YOURSELF ?

Scratch in stainless centre trim - CAN BE REPLACED

Park- Handbrake- car moves forward as if the handbrake isn't taking and it
rests in Park. - MINE HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS, SO I NEVER USE IT

Engine bay- aluminium oxidised, steel rusted. Honestly it looks like the engine block is rusted. Or is it just that colour finish. Surely not. - YEP, THEY SEEM TO ONLY PAINT THE PARTS THAT REQUIRE IT. IT SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON WITH CAR MAKERS TO LEAVE THE FINNISH RAW. PRESONALLY I HATE IT, AS SEEING RUST ON MY NEW CAR PISSES ME OFF

Re: Australian SRT issues

Hey Marty, sorry to hear you are having such issues. As you know i may well have been the first in OZ to take ownership of a14 SRT. I have to date, trouble free motoring from the get go, apart from a replaced uconnect system.

It is not satisfactory that your SRT has above listed issues, i would suggest you speak to the dealership of your dissatisfaction, don't speak to sales, they are as useful as tits on a bull, ask for the service manager. All these things are covered by warranty, but none the less it's a PITA for you. Be curt, you have purchased the flagship of their lineup and you don't expect /accept these issues and you want them resolved asap.

Best of luck, let us know how you go.

Cheers
Peter

Re: Australian SRT issues

EVIC on 99 at idle is normal. It doesn't have a l/per hour option like my F6X had when idling.

I cant see any reason why the Brembos would be chipped, mine are perfect (although dirty lol).

As mentioned, check the plugs on each shock.

Good luck getting them to fix the other stuff.......... after the sales experience will be interesting to see the service side of them.

Come to think of it, I'm pretty certain the engine block is painted orange!

Re: Australian SRT issues

My AC stays on, I haven't noticed it switching off.

My Flairs are slightly out, but being fixed under warranty.

the fuel showing 99 is normal. Because your not actually moving u could burn an infinite amount of fuel per 100k, because your speed is 0kph.

Good luck with getting it all sorted mate.

Re: Australian SRT issues

Being 'curt' is definitely the way to go. Better yet be prepared to act like an a$$hole if you have to. For me it was quite easy. Get a loaner car and have them keep it overnight until the problems are fixed. Remember how much you paid for it.

Re: Australian SRT issues

Thanks for the replies boys. I will stay calm as long as it is all resolved quickly. If not then I will explode as with all due respect this is absolutely f:;coking ridiculous. If they at any stage treat this otherwise I will let them have it with all barrels, ACL and all.

I am staying calm because it is a fantastic car, no doubt, but come on, really, this many issues. It is just a lack of care or responsibility.

Anyway I could go on for hours but I won't.

Oh yeah, got a couple more late last night;
Reverse guide lines missing most of the time. Sometimes they are there other times they are not.
Horn does not work on lock .
Both are common problems from ready this site.

That's strange with the reverse lines, mine are there every time, and the rear view mirrors automatically tilt down and adjust.

Also if u start and the SRT app logo is missing, hit the VR button and say "display more" and it will open up every time.

Have you had a play with the VR button yet, I think it works pretty well, easy to make calls and play whatever song u ask for.
