And for the folks with the modified and aftermarket exhausts it makes sense as MDS can cause horrible resonance. But if you are doing long distance driving and you haven't used it or tried to until your ears gave out I call BS.

It's like why the radio is always on when you start the truck ...

Ok, I seem to have got you all upset

So to answer your original question as quoted above... no, you can not set it to ON as a default setting.
