AWD dyno runs ...need info asap

So I have never been on a dyno with my jeep and there happens to be one at this show I am at. In order to do a pull I need to know what gear and what rpm to stop at. If you guys could advise that would be great!!

I believe on the dyno you want to be in the gear that is a 1:1 ratio. On the 8 speeds that is 6th gear. That is all I know though someone smarter than me will chime in

SUMMITT is right but some dyno operators will do it in a lower gear to keep the speed down and some dynos will give a higher reading in a lower gear. Just because redline is 6200 rpm doesnt mean your putting out +hp at that rpm. My 07 srt8 was out of hp at 5500 rpm and the hp went down from 5600 to 6000 rpm. My 07 lost 18.5% on a AWDJET.

Yes i did as the wife really didnt like how big it was over our 07 and it was just to hard for here to drive it. They gave me 40,000 for my 2012 and i got the 2014 cherokee trailhawk at invoice. She happy now and its 199 hp short but 997 lbs lighter. Im testing octanes now and it looks like its a toss up between 89 and 91. Ill be running 98 octane at the track. I fig i got all i could out of the 2012 with the stock set up and i didnt want to really get into the tuning wars again lol.

Too late now but yes 6th gear. The dyno operator will watch the graph and back off once max hp is reached, so wont get to 6200, more like 5700 or so.

SRT website will prob tell you when max hp is reached too.

Re: AWD dyno runs ...need info asap

Here are the results. This is all foreign to me but a few guys were complaining about their results. Any input on these results would be greatly appreciated.

It was 75 and sunny and the car was barely warm when we did the run. All I have for modifications are:

-B Woody intake
-Fastman Throttle Body
-Gt Haus Cat back (cut outs open)
-BT Catch can

Re: AWD dyno runs ...need info asap

374 HP is low and IMO the t/b and open cut outs hurt your hp. The mustang dyno isnt the best dyno to run a test on IMO. 1 guy in oiur group has a 2012 bone stock and put out 392 hp and after a dyno tune he put out 415 on a dynojet. Have you ever run it at the drag strip and if so what was your 1/8 and 1/4 mile time?

I thought the open cut outs only hurt the low end (under 3000 rpm). I am heading to the track in another week or so. I will update you then.

The owner of the shop even said that if I was on a dynojet it would be 40hp higher.

A dyno jet puts out only about 5% more than a mustang dyno and that would give you another about 18.7 hp. I never dynoed my 2012 but it was bone stock and in the 1/8 mile i went 8.24 in DA OF + 1178 ft. when you go to the track let me know what your 60' and 1/8 mile was. Make a run with cut outs open and closed and see if theres a diff in the 1/8 mile.
