Billet tech clear catch can warping :(

anyone have the clear billet catch can installed and have issues with warping. I have the one that bolts to the pcm. I just did about an hour of driving with some wot pulls. Opened the hood and so the clear can is warping! Actually it's leaking oil a little from the bottom because the cap isn't sealed I guess because the threaded part of the can is warped. Also the top part of the can where the the 90's thread into appear to be damp looking or slightly darker, dis colored.

Re: Billet tech clear catch can warping :(

I noticed my mpg increased in Eco mode from 22.7mph at 60mph to 27mpg which I thought was drastic. I wonder if this could in anyway be causing a misreading. Excuse my lack of car knowledge in advance lol.

Is yours like a heavy duty plastic?
Hoping my temporary fix holds. I used one of the hoses and just bypassed the can. Same as stock set up but using one of the hoses from the kit. Trying to avoid pulling out the nipple in the rubber 90 near the back of the intake manifold .Should be ok until I get a new can.

Mine is the same as yours if you got it from billet. It supposed to be made of plastic composites which not sure what it is. You should take it up to billets

I think they mean the unit is composite in that it is metal and plastic. But plastic on a catch can?

Re: Billet tech clear catch can warping :(

whatever the issue is....bt will cover it.

and if its leaking just bypass the whole thing with a piece of hose until you get it right/

but I know my buddy wink has a clear one in his 800 RWHP WK1 srt8 and he hasnt melted his. although his is rather old.

I just got one of these about a month ago but mine is still good but now I'm kinda worried about it. Please let me know what they say about the problem.

Re: Billet tech clear catch can warping :(

Update to this situation. Billet has been great to work with. They sent me a new solid catch kit priority mail and a paid return label to ship back me warped clear can. They said they are very concerned about this failure as they have about 200 of these cans built from this material batch. They want the can back asap to do testing on it. I shipped it back to them today and installed my solid red one. I actually think this one looks better but obviously you lose the convience of seeing if you need to dump the can. I'll keep this thread updated when they respond back.
