Re: Black Chrome

There I think I figured it out...this was the chip that then turned into a huge section of paint that came off.

Re: Black Chrome

UPDATE: Service manager finally called back with an answer from Chrysler and they approved the wheel to be replaced. Very happy with the outcome on this one.

Re: Black Chrome

Just over 2k miles and I have a chip in my black chrome wheel, also notice runs in the chrome finish, think that would qualify for warranty replacement? It has a noticeably felt ridge in the finish

It can't hurt to take it in for digital imaging but I'm guessing if it isn't a defect in the finish they won't warranty it. I have another chip in a different wheel but it is a normal chip that didn't have paint flake off in a large section so I didn't even have them look at that one. My suggestion is to get the service manager to take a look and he will probably submit it. Can't hurt to ask. Good luck!

Well on a good note regarding BlackChrome is the color and finish of tailpipe TIPS. After a 2500 mile plus trip at all types of speed they are like new

Re: Black Chrome

Jeep doesn't cover rock chips and since 3 of 4 wheels have the runs in the chrome, they aren't considered defective.

Re: Black Chrome

Strange, you need to visit the dealer and discuss this problem with them
