^Not a fan of the wheels or the White Sox plate frame but the rest looks nice.

My front Jeep and side GC emblems have been removed. I'm like you...I still like a little bit of chrome accents, but not too much.
I never thought I'd see the day that my look (polished lip 3 piece. Mild lower. No debadge. Not all monotone) would be the unique look. Go to any local car show here and everyone, I mean everyone is either blacked out, bloodied, storm troopered, debadged and all chrome removed, black wheels. 5-10 years ago that wasn't the case. The internet is to blame. People see something they like and think is cool and everyone does it. There are a few hundred Gallardos roaming Houston and it seems like there are maybe 5 because every single one of them has nearly the exact same visual mods, only slight difference. Very hard to have your own look these days.

I've decided to order these rings and I'll have the Jeep body shop guy I know put them on for me. All about that 99-2000 look.

Styles and trends change over the years as you know with just about everything.

You could be unique if you run 24" spinners but that doesn't mean it looks good. This is my 4th car with the black/silver theme and I do it because I like how it looks not because some Joe Schmoe at the gas station gives me a thumbs up or Dink and Doink at a car show say "cool car man!".

If someone wants to copy my look then so be it but im not going fling poo on my car so I can call it "original" or "unique". I'm going to keep it clean and classy no matter what the trend. Unfortunately there are many people out there who just do things to be noticed by their neighbors instead of for themselves. Trying so hard to be different for the sake of being different is a fail in my book.

Re: Black Grille Rings (Painted from Mopar) now available!

Only people I saw running black wheels 10 years ago were in the hood and in the barrio. Then a few TV stars started doing it and vuala! shit is everywhere. Of course everyone denies they copied the trend but that is always the case, no exception.

Now I'm not saying you aren't the rare breed who had black wheels etc. before it become popular, I'm just stating the facts that it is in fact a fad. So don't get your panties all bunched up!

Truckers hats...Rayban Aviators...Wayfarers...Stupid Gshock watches...58mm watches...ripped jeans...ed hardy...adv.1. Same thing

Now I'm going to go fling some poo on my Jeep

Re: Black Grille Rings (Painted from Mopar) now available!

I didn't have black wheels until 4 years ago when I started using them for winters. I said I had the black/silver theme for 4 cars meaning silverish color with black accents.
I did run steelies in the early 2ks but that's because I didn't want my hubcaps flying off in the winter.

I do what I like...I could care less what the trends are! One of the reasons for painted wheels is chrome and polished don't hold up to weather and people get tired of that! I also like black because it easy to fix if damaged. Like those high dollar wheels of yours...you curb one.....its trashed and your buying another $2000 wheel. I curb one....I call a local wheel repair and they fix it and paint it for $75....LOL. Or I call up Chad at Black ops and get a brand new one shipped to me for less than $200

No disrespect taken. I just wanted to make it my own. I think the front looks better without the Jeep badge. Had the original chrome Jeep lettering from the factory, took that off and replaced with Gloss Black Jeep, took that off because I thought looks best with a clean front end. I got the car for me, not for other people to look and see, "oh hey a Jeep SRT." the grille rings are still there, just gloss black.

We all bought them because they perform amazing and look beautiful. Just wanted mine to be different than the guy who just rolled into dealership and left with a new one.

YEAH not accurate on that one scotty, i just caught a rear left rim and a mobile guy came out and patched up for $50 and you can not tell.
i was 100% changing to black rings but after seeing them it just takes to much detail from the front of the car and looks unfinished IMO, i now just use car polish on the rings, takes 5 mins every few months and they stay nice and bright and wipe over very easy.
the only way it would look better is if you did the black hawk thing and had a silver mesh behind the rings.

i could not agree with you more , apart from the ring change. i looked at the first pics of the sydney srt club and thought SAD , rock up and every car is the same, thats why i have custom rims, lowered, black badges, drl mod and drilled rotors because i dont want to look like a factory jeep by any means. if i pull up i have other srt owners come over and tell me its done right which is good to hear BUT ive done it my way for me and thats the way you should do for you. its good your a member that doesnt get fired up over some one not liking what you do so thanks for that and keep on doing what makes you smile
