Re: Blacking out window chrome in Denver

Thank you for the heads up. I looked at their inventory online and saw they had a few. Just new to the area and the brand. I'm not quite sure where Roxborough is. I might have to Google it. CR here. Just south of denver and the tech center.

I get that. So many blacked out vehicles around here. With so much salt from snow it looks bad in Winter. I was just noticing that I really should have waxed the black with this touch of warm weather.

Best of luck. I've seen some nice blacked out Jeeps and even MB SUVs.

I'm in CR as well.

The window trim is stainless steel, not chrome though.

The window trim on a WK2 JGC is most definitely *not* stainless steel.

The window trim is plastic painted with a chrome colored paint of some kind which pits similarly to actual chrome when exposed to mag chloride and road salt.

Yeah I'm just a few minutes north west of you. CR is closer to me than any part of Denver proper.

So I did have Extreme do my chrome blackout. They used a film that roughly matches the wheels - probably the same that they used on yours. It's outstanding. Still has the metallic look but achieves the dark look.

I may go back to do offset racing stripes in a subtle matte black or gray.

Here's the window trim:
