Hey guys I need your help big time!!

When I sometimes try to play music via bluetooth it says "connect device". My phone is connected and I can make and recieve calls without issue but my bluetooth and SD card will not play anything. I went to the dealer and they saw it and they replaced the radio. Tech connected his phone and it played fine as did mine. Now I get into my car tonight and same issue happens. Connect device. Tried connecting my fiance's and hers said the same thing.

Anyone ever have this issue or anyone have any help!! Please help cause that's all I listen to is my SD CARD and my bluetooth music on my phone

I currently have a iPhone 5 and the newest software!

Please help

I haven't had any issues with mine (iPhone 5) but haven't tried it in a week or two. Will try tomorrow morning on the way to the office and see what happens. Did you do the recent iOS update?

Yea the other night it told me there was a software update so I did. The confusing part is that the SD Card won't even play so maybe it isn't bluetooth issue and more a software issue

never tried playing music from SD but i have to connect device every time i use bluetooth to play music from iphone even though it is connected automatically to make and receive phone calls.

What do you mean?? Cause when I click connected devices it shows that my phone is connected for audio devices. It's so weird how either they both (sd card and bluetooth) work or they both don't work.

So you don’t have a BT issue, you have a music play back issue.
What happens if you plug the phone into the USB port and puts it into iPod mode?

Ya I would say it's not a bluetooth issue and yes a playback issue. Tried to plug it in before and that didn't work as well

i did not try that actually but here you go. Woke up this morning for work.......phone automatically connected and the the music and SDCard worked. So weird!!!!!

Mine does this off and on. My neighbor has the same issue with his 2013 Ram 1500. It will also happen to the USB. You plug it in and it won't recognize the device. There also doesn't appear to be any pattern to make it work again. We tried turning the car off, exiting, etc to no avail. Then it just randomly recognizes the device...

Weird

yes exactly!!!!! hit the nail on the head... i just tried installing a buddy of mines that i work with. he has an andriod phone and it still didnt work. it may not work for a week and then finally itll work again... so damn annoying.... did your neighbor find anything out?????

I would agree that it isn't a bluetooth issue per se if the SD card doesn't work either. I've had no issues with my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4 or the soon to be released iOS 7.1. The only thing I've seen with mine is that it is often slow to start playback, but it works fine every time. Both bluetooth and SD.

ya thats the aggravating part that it seems like it doesn't affect much... im wondering if the IOS 7.1 will fix issues... there also is a TSB out for our radios...just came out a few days ago that apparently fixes these issues but i dont know... just sucks because thats all i do is stream music....

I have my doubts that iOS 7.1 will fix anything, mine was working fine with 7.0.4 also. It sounds like it is more the vehicle than the phone. The TSB you mentioned does bring up an interesting point though, as soon as I bought my GJC, I updated the uConnect to the latest firmware 13.48.3 to take advantage of the "via mobile" features. You can check your uConnect version by going into settings, and about. The firmware is available online as are instructions to update. All you really do is enter the last 8 digits of your VIN. It provides you with the software which you then load on a USB thumb drive and stick into the media hub. It takes about 20 minutes to complete.

I plan on doing that. It's weird cause right now it's working and playing. It's do weird

This is a common issue with SD cards.

I also have the same issue and using Android instead.

I don't know where the problem is, could be the manufacturer of the SD card, but basically sometimes the system fails to read the card when it boots up. When that happens it also disables playback from any other devices.

My recommendation is to keep the SD card unplugged when you're not planning on using it. Also try USB drives instead, after encountering this issue with my SD card I bought a 16GB thumbdrive and that seems to never give me the problem the SD card gives me. I've personally never tried another SD card myself but I've heard of others switching cards and not encountering the issue.

Bottom line, this is a problem with Uconnect and certain SD cards.
It has NOTHING to do with Android or iOS.
iOS is a problem of it's own but amazingly this time it is not the cause, har har.

It is because quite frankly Jeep have released a product like Uconnect half cocked. I am sorry to hijack the thread but the amount of problems these cars have straight out of the box is quick frankly amazing. Too much technology and not enough experience or personnel to pull it off.

It is not good enough in my opinion to produce an awesome car (which it is ) and have the amount of issues they have with Uconnect, transmission issues, figment issues etc etc and it is OK because it is an awesome car and heaps cheaper than the competitors. To me this is quickly taking away from the " this is an awesome car" comment.

There are plenty of people who have not had any problems. I agree that they would look at this post as what are you talking about. But there are way too many that do, no matter how little the issues may seem.

I know what you are talking about phillysrt, sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't, there is no real pattern to it, you have to continue to shift through the cd/radio/ iPod etc etc to get it working. Then you plug it in via USB and you have to hit play to get it working again even though it was just working on Bluetooth.

It is just another problem with a lot of these cars.

Sorry, rant over.

You're correct. Jeep released the 2014 WK2 without putting in the proper R&D on the vehicle. Their logic is to put it out into the real world and then address the problems that will show up.

Some logic, huh?
