Hey guys. I'm a new SRT Night owner. I noticed on the black satin wheels that the fronts get major brake dust on them after two days of being cleaned. Is this an issue that goes away after breaks break in?
It says it doesn't fit the 2015 SRT, my truck says otherwise! I do Amazon, some are cheaper but free 2 day shipping and fuel perks rule my world. I am sitting at 5 trips of 30 gallons of free fuel from my shopping!
yea, brembo oem pads have awesome stopping power but alot brake dust is the norm. several threads w hundreds of options on different pads, price and oem stopping power. follow the threads and hard to go wrong as each pad has the there own merit.
Two days? Try 50 miles.....I got sick of it and put on low dust Hawk ceramics. Big mistake bc they feel like crap. I personally use a swiffer on them every chance I get to keep them clean still.
based in feedback from the members on the site i switched to hawks front( not ceramic) and stop techs back. very happy w performance and much less dust. basically the scott brake package. just my experience but I don't track, nor is it dd, weekend spirited driving
To deal with the brake dust (which does diminish once pads are broken in), find a Ceramic Pro detailer in your area, and have them coat your wheels in Ceramic Pro STRONG (not 9H). Expect to pay from $150-$200. They must be removed to be done properly.
Dust won't accumulate nearly as quickly, and you can wash brake dust off with a hose after getting it coated. Well worth it, should last more than 5 years.
Many people have good results with DLux from carpro as well. I have begun using HVLP to spray my wheel coatings, fast, not as efficient with product, no wiping after and a thicker coat.

Invest in a power (pressure) washer. Literally takes a few minutes to clean the wheels and you won't even need a cleaning agent sprayed on the wheels.
