Brake Dust / New Pads

Anybody change the front PADS? I want to change them. I'm tired of the brake dust and only have 1k miles on it.

Re: Brake Dust / New Pads

It's not brake dust, it's particles from the built-in powder-coating system.

Haven't change the pads, but this seems to help:

Re: Brake Dust / New Pads

Mopar makes a product that repels brake dust.

I've never used it.

Re: Brake Dust / New Pads

Why sacrifice braking power for less dust! They dust for a reason. Just never wash your wheels and leave them black lol

Re: Brake Dust / New Pads

i started using Amor All wheel protectant. i use one can for all four tires. i apply one coat heavy, let dry 1-2 hrs, and then apply a second coat. i can drive almost 100-150 miles city/town with minimal/little break dust. this stuff is amazing. i bought it online at cabela's and saved a significant amount from my local shop.

Re: Brake Dust / New Pads

Yep. Usually I'll have black wheels after about 3-4 days after a wash. With the ArmorAll, I'm going well over a week and while it has some dust, they do look much better than without.

I also tried the armor all product based on the various feedback from this forum. So far it has worked well. Pretty much the same experience as the prior two posts

Re: Brake Dust / New Pads

Can't you just blow the dust off with your air compresser?
