Brake Recall

Just saw this today, gave chrysler a call and they took my VIN and were unable to tell me if I was included on the recall at this time. Just wondering if any other SRT owners received a recall notice?

Re: Brake Recall

Hello SRTBLK,

Did not receive a recall notice (yet)(Canada). Had to have my brake booster replaced last month as it developed a leak and you could hear the air pissing sound from loosing vacuum. Still under 5 yr war.

Re: Brake Recall

I saw this on a local newspaper yesterday. But they mentioned Dodge Chargers 2011-2012 and nothing about Jeeps !! If this is true, then I really want to know if I'm included in the recall too !

There are two different recalls. Notices are scheduled to start going out "Next Month", May, according to the press release I read.

Re: Brake Recall

I'm glad to see this recall. I love my 2012 GC, but I have lost the boosting power twice in the last two winters. That may not sound like much, but it's scary as hell when it happens. Both time was when it was very cold out.

Re: Brake Recall

2011-2014 all Jeep grand cherokee are recalled for something about brakes. I've watch the National news on tv last night on cbc and that's what they posted. Here in Canada we are to expect a letter in the mail this month sometime.

Re: Brake Recall

Went to the owners/uconnect website - put in my VIN (2014 with build date of March 2013) and did a search and it says

"There is no recall for VIN XXX."

I would hope the SRT has a different braking system, but who knows...

The recall was just announced. I don't even see it on wk2jeeps yet, nor, I suspect has it been written up as a recall notice yet. I would imaging they would need to have parts ready, etc. etc. before sending out to dealers and vin posting.

Cheer up, you could have a recall because spiders are causing engine fires...

Exactly my thought, I wonder if SRT users are exempt from the recall.
