Break-in on Interstate

I am picking up my '15 sometime next week in Houston and will be driving it back home to AL the day after (with a multi-day stopover at the beach in FL ). Obviously this means a lot of interstate driving the first 500+ miles. I know this may not be ideal (or it may not even matter), but is there anything special I should do such as varying engine RPMs and speed during my trip, etc? I will probably put 50 or so miles on it around town in Houston the day I pick it up before I hit the interstate the next day.

I'm probably worried about nothing, but just wanted to get some opinions.

Re: Break-in on Interstate

hey! congrats on the new ride... i wouldnt worry about it at all. as long as you not baby the thing but drive it easy for the first 500 miles youll be ok. they suggest WOT for very short bursts to kind of get the motor acclimated but no WOT until you get to 150mph...

but on the other side as my old man used to always tell me... drive it like you stole it! haha

What!! You want him to be doing 150mph BEFORE he does WOT

I'm hoping you meant cover 150miles before doing WOT.

The manual does suggest varying the RPM for the first 500mi. So just drive with the traffic flow and once in a while overtake someone to vary the speed/RPM. DONT use cruise control they say though.
