I'm pretty sure they are only available in a summer tire...

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

Guys, just can't get out of my head that 305/35/22 are large tread for the front wheels. When you look at the BMW's they are running 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 rear which IMO looks awesome with a staggered set up. The overall circumference and diameter are within 0.1% so therefore no issues with the tranny etc. Yes they are running 20's where 22's are the option that again IMO looks better on our SRT's.

So that brings me to the possibility of running 265/40/22 on the front and 305/35/22 on the rear. Stats are below

265/40-22 305/35-22 Difference
Diameter inches (mm) 30.35 (770.8) 30.41 (772.3) 0.06 (1.5) 0.2%
Width inches (mm) 10.43 (265) 12.01 (305) 1.57 (40) 15.1%
Circum. inches (mm) 95.34 (2421.54) 95.52 (2426.25) 0.19 (4.71) 0.2%
Sidewall Height inches (mm) 4.17 (106) 4.2 (106.75) 0.03 (0.75) 0.7%
Revolutions per mile (km) 664.6 (412.96) 663.3 (412.16) -1.29 (-0.8) -0.2%

Again I would imagine this would not effect the truck in anyway.

Are my thoughts sound?
Has anyone done this?
Opinions?

Thanks

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

I'm curious on this as well, I think 305's up front would be too wide and a 305 in the rear and a 285, even 295 up front..

Interested in hearing thoughts.

best place to buy 22 rep's?

What are the wheel diameter's for a 22 tire again? I think i read Scott saying they are very specific and hard to find due to our set up or something?

(forgive my ignorance on this)

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

the problem with going staggered last I checked is the tire selection in those sizes is VERY small. For instance....if you wanted the nitto 420s is 285-35 fronts and 305-35 rears...it cant be done. Nitto doesn't offer them in 305-35. Or if you wanted to do the Vreds the same...cant be done.....Vreds aren't available in 285-35. Also....there are very few tires even in the 295 size. Most are 295-30 or 295-25. It really comes down to tire availability. That's why most do the 305-35 or 285-35.

Thanks Scott. Agree with your comments. You can run 265/40 front and 305/35 back as both Pirelli and Vred do both these sizes.

I wouldn't do the 265 40 that seems really narrow for these beasts
