Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

I can't decide on whether to run with 305/35/22 or 285/35/22 on 22x10 reproduction SRT8 wheels. I have been searching the forum to find rear shots of your cars '14 SRT and there are not too many, a lot of angle and side shots but not a lot of rear shots showing the wheels.

Can I ask for you guys who are running either size tyre/tire to post rear shots to help me decide. Also can you give any pros and cons on your choice.

Thanks guys, need to place an order with Black Ops soon and get them shipped to Sydney so please help.

Cheers

I have the 285/40/22 setup, I don't really like it, I want wider tires in the back, I also lost some traction in that setup so I will definitely be going wider next time

here are some rear shots

hope that helps

i went with the 305/35/22 setup but mine are not on the jeep just yet because of salt and road grime due to the winter months. most likely around april i will be able to get these bad boys on!

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

I have the 285 35 on my 2014 because I actually bought this setup for my 2013 in Sept. 2012. At the time the ONLY nice tire available in 22" and near our oem size was 285 35 22 in an all season. The ONLY tire I could find in 305 35 was the Vreds...in a summer tire. I believe there are other all season tires now available in 305 35. I like the way 285 35 looks,....but I think when its time to replace these...I will do 305 35 22.

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

Excuse my ignorance but the 305 35 22 will be wider and taller in side profile height than the 285 35 22?

305-35-22 is what everyone should be running with 22" wheels. Its measurements match stock ride height and rolling diameter nearly dead on. That's the #1 thing to consider when matching a new tire to an upsized wheel spec. That size tire has been hard to find though until recently.

yes...RJ is correct. Tire sizes to match our stock were hard to come by...305 35 is about perfect and many tires are starting to become available

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

Thanks for your replies guys. The big problem is getting 305/35/22 in Australia. It is almost impossible. If I have a problem with a wheel getting a puncture that is not repairable I am screwed.

Does anyone have a pic of the 305's?

Re: Calling all cars running 305/35/22 or 285/35/22

I have the 305/35/22 (not on a rep wheel though). I wanted more of an all season b/c I don't swap out for winter. The only choice was the Vred and the discontinued Pirelli. I love my Pirellis, but I had to pay a pretty penny and I had the shop locate a 5 tire as well for backup.

No, the Vred would never work in Chicago. I went with the Pirelli SCORPION ZERO ASIMMETRICO PERFORMANCE TIRE
