The OP might be a bit of a Troll.

But he is right about the Range Rover Sport being an awesomely capable vehicle. While it costs almost as much as a regular WK2 and an SRT, that cost might be justified since the RRS can pretty much keep up with either (On & Off Road).

BTW, the Range Rover Sport just won 2014 Four Wheeler of the Year from Four Wheeler Magazine:

Re: Can your WK2 SRT8 Do this?

the rrsport cannot keep up with the 21" wheels it shod with offroad....sorry. Its BS. Yeah.,..maybe threw their staged "mud pit" and shallow staged water crossings.

as I posted on the green site a rrsr is close to 90k. And their site only lists it as 0-60 at 5seconds for 10k still nearly 15k cheaper you can super charge a wk2 and wipe the floor with any of the performance suvs nobody buys an srt to go rock climbing I agree with Scott those are not 21" rims in their video

Re: Can your WK2 SRT8 Do this?

Well the Range Rover Sport won Four Wheeler of the Year with its stock tires (which sucked for off-roading according to the article).

And since the RRS tires also have to be rated to handle its high top end speed (up to 155Mph with the SCV8 Dynamic), tires are an extremely hard thing to get "just right" for ALL possible situations. Considering the @#$! Michelin tires that come stock on the WK2 Overland, the RRS could have done a lot worse.

Quoted from the article:

"The same low-profile, street-biased 21-inch tires that helped to produce the killer on-road performance are a hindrance off-road. During the first full day of trail testing, a rock gutted the sidewall of one of the tires, which forced us to swap on the not-a-fullsize spare. Calls to local tire shops for the unusual-sized tire were a bust. But thanks to help from Land Rover, we were able to get a new tire (and a fullsize spare) from a local Land Rover dealer that was just a few miles from our hotel. It turned out OK, but leads us to wish out loud for a more off-road-centric tire on the Sport. "I wish they offered a speed-rated all-terrain tire," wrote a judge. We get that the tires are a key ingredient to the Sports handling and performance, but we'd love to see a smaller wheel diameter and more aggressive tire option."

Re: Can your WK2 SRT8 Do this?

Range Rovers are amazing cars after you've owned one for ten years.

- SAID NO ONE EVER

Seriously, The RR is impressive, but is it something that has a terrible history with breaking? Yes. Not just one model, all models, for... oh.. I don't know... the entire history of the company.

Why not just buy a Ford Flex?

That's how much sense your post makes Setoutguy.

SRT is not an off road vehicle. You get this, right?

Rape also means to plunder, a violent siezure, abuse or a violation...so, unless somebody was having sex forcefully with a Range Rover, there really isn't anything tasteless about the word in this context.

Way to bring it back with that brilliant explanation.

Re: Can your WK2 SRT8 Do this?

To own his taste. You love high performance suv and going affroad the same time? get the RR Vogue or the RRS or even the mighty G63 AMG. But if you don't take your car offroad and want an suv with same performance as X5M, ML63 or RRS with less price get the SRT.

Re: Can your WK2 SRT8 Do this?

I'm really enjoying this thread...

SRT owners trying to justify their uncommon "on road performance" choice...

RRS owners trying to convince people anyone ever would drive one offroad without a support team of factory sherpas...

Word nazi's trying to change the definition of words and ban them...

And those trying to defend the word choice "rape" for car discussion...

Can we get NY Yankees and Obamacare in here somewhere?

I agree, the RRS is a great vehicle, but for $165k Aussie, It just isn't economical.
I have my SRT for the day to day, and towing my toys around, and the 100 series land cruiser for the "off the beaten track" stuff.
I have a mate with a RRS and it is GOOD, but I wouldn't want to be in the middle of nowhere in Australia in it or the SRT.
At least I know I can get spares and servicing done in outback Australia on the cruiser whereas the RRS and SRT I wouldn't have a hope.

At the end of the day, each to their own, the key is buying a car that suits your lifestyle and taste - FULL STOP!!!
