Pic of the hood in question CFR EDITION!!!

Prices:
999 Fiberglass
1199 Carbon top Fiberglass inner
1499 Full Carbon Top and Bottom/Inner

All prices above will be plus 200.00 flat rate shipping anywhere in the USA.

Canada Aussy,UAE and anywhere else you will have to email me for a quote

Info@Blackopsautoworks

Let me take some shipping confusion out and try to address all international shipping quotes in one general post.

UAE sees 700-900 freight
Aussy sees about the same ^
Canada 240-280

All hoods are considered freight we do not use UPS or Fed Ex they are just crazy high priced 1,000+++ just for shipping with them. Please don't ask me to quote with them as it's waste of time trust me I've been doing this a long time LOL. Even if you get a discount with your company it don'tt work trust me been their done that it don't work even with the biggest corporate discounts.

The hood boxes are large 72x68x8 and once packed they weigh 55 pounds. Their is no real cheap way they get us dimensionally not by weight the dimensions in a shipping calculator estimate these boxes at 200+ pounds so this is the reason for the high prices.

I quote with 3-4 different companies I found over the past 7 years and use the best quote possible. We do not sell shipping and in fact if a quote comes in at 748 I typically round down to 725.00 in order to get the sale I NEVER MARK UP.

We sell parts and have no interest in selling shipping or making money on shipping I can guarantee you are not being priced gouged on shipping we have to keep guys employed and need work making parts not money from shipping.

A container by sea to any region would be the best bet honestly probably 2500 for 10 hoods+ anything else that fits I'm sure their is someone in every country to organize this for a certain group looking for parts to be shipped out.

put me down for 1 carbon fiber. Is the carbon fiber inner a drastic difference over the fiberglass one?
Done
More for looks may be 1-2#

MORE BELOW!!! LOL

whats the weight savings from the cf compared to OEM?
The hood is indeed lighter.

OEM is 15-18#'s

Here is an example: All our competition build hoods at 30-35# because they are laminating a fiberglass hood and spraying with Clear paint or laying up heavy and spraying with clear paint.

We start with an in mold clear lay carbon some times two layers .The same process on the inner skin as on the outer skin. In total you have 2-4 layers of carbon (Depending on the hood) We do have one more filler thats our secret we can not discuss here LOL.

The weight all comes down to resin content and this is the very reason we use our method of building parts ex. our resin content is 30-40%

Our competition use a chopper gun (Mixed resin with chopped fiberglass sprayed at a mold then rolled out 50%+ resin content) We don't use chopper guns and can control the resin content. The less resin content the stronger the part. I know of one hood that is hand laid WRONG I have seen them in person and I wouldn't put it on my worst enemies car they miss out on a few Key steps that are very important. Resin content = cracked, stress crack, falling apart, yellowing or clouding.

We know for a fact we have the lightest strongest Carbon hoods in the industry and do not use any cleat paint on any of them. If u get a scratch wet sand it out. Not like our competition "sent it back for more clear coat" Ours also don't fade or yellow this is a bonus and very important.

Back to your question finally sorry off topic LOL

We can build an 8 pound full race hood solid 3-6 layers of carbon pin on no problem. The cost will be in the range of 3500.00  No one wants to pay that or even needs that so we don't advertise that since the jeep weighs so much a heavy lunch could make the same difference no one is setting records on the pro circuit of drag racing here Haa.

Now from a pin on to our fiberglass that should weigh in at 12-14# (not sure until our New MFG actually builds this style) All our hoods are 1-2 pounds of each other and have been for 8 years so I expect this hood to be no different. The Carbon may be a little bit lighter than the fiberglass simply because of fabric strength and resin content we can drop it a bit most likely 3-4# so 8-11# pounds for a carbon fiber.

In 7 years I have never had a customer weigh a hood or buy a carbon hood simply because of weight they buy them because they like the looks. I make everyone understand that they should not buy for weight. I have never had a sales technique of "Buy it because of weight" just like I'm telling everyone here.

Just remember what you save with the cost from FG to CF you may bite the bullet at the body shop so get your paint quote first. I can not tell you how may times in 7 years I have told people this only to get an email saying they wish they bought the carbon because their body shop wants 400-800 to paint the hood. I've seen quotes of 1,200 and people calling me to ask "what to do" I have even called a dozen body shops and asked what the shop rate was since they had 4-5 hrs of labor on the estimate and a price of 800.00 haa. If your shop rate is 49.00hr. and you are getting a 800$ quote it's time to ask questions or move on. If you do buy FG and you do not like the quote or feel free to ask me for help I will be more than happy and it is not beyond my service to you I do all kinds of crazy stuff for customers LOL

Hope I answered all your questions and gave a little bit of insight as to how things are done. Now everyone can ask build question in the future to anyone selling carbon parts. The more you know how carbon is built the better for me because the oldest saying I have is

"Not All Carbon Is Created Equal"

Hey guys, long time no talk...

Want to jump in real quick. I owned the hood & splitter both in CF. I have to say Black Ops hood was just insane. The quality was a work of art. I have owned many aftermarket CF parts and 99% had to be sent back. Just junk. Not the case with Black Ops

If he is willing to make this hood again, don't pass it up in my opinion!

PS, my hood was Carbon top / Fiber under. Don't think the underside in fiber is not nice. It's perfect, smooth like butter. Just needs paint.

I tried to find this post on another hood group buy but my posts die in 2012 not sure why anyway I'll do my best to cover it here again.

I will contact all who put their name on the list and place them in order as they paid in full. I will then let them know what number they are at the time of payment.

A mold takes us 8-10 weeks hard to say seems we always have issues so I am giving myself plenty of time not to be rushed and provide a quality hood.

So the wait will begin when I have ALL the cash I can not start it sooner because if 5 pay then this will not happen and I'm sure no one wants their cash back but this is happening with 10 peoples money paid in full up front no less unfortunatly.

Since the cash is just a fraction of what it takes to get this done I need everyone committed with me. If I'm the only one committing then this don't make sense for me to do right LOL. I will then refund whoever pays.:(

Once all cash is collected I will begin and wait.

I am rebuilding the hood from scratch I am not molding the Carbon one here we will get an oem hood and place all the sculpt work on the new hood I find it yields a better product. Sculpting takes 4 weeks mold takes another 4-6 this is why I give myself the 10 week timeline.

Once the mold is complete I will mail the first one to a test fit guy (Not Ideal). We hope we have someone on the list near Southern California and that wants a fiberglass hood!! This local person no matter where they are on the list in terms of payment will test fit and keep the #1 hood. We will then return to the #1 guy waiting in order of payment. Why do we do it this way if we have to mail out a fiberglass hood it takes a week for someone to receive and another week to figure out if anything is wrong or not and we get the thumbs up to continue. The quicker we get the results and feedback the quicker we continue with the remaining orders so a local is fastest. If we do have any issue (We never do knock on wood) but lets says we do we have to fix it and that could go over out 10 week mark unless we are ahead of schedule.

We have done almost a half dozen group buys and know how to make the process move along best.

PLEASE and I repeat PLEASE DO NOT PAY ME if you are gonna call for an update as I will not have any for you we will tell you to refer back to this thread. I have to be honest here if I get tired of all the updates week after week I apologize now I will be forced to refund you.

I will give you the best time line possible at the beginning and thats what it will be I hold pretty tight with my deadlines may be a week over or so from start to finish of the first hood. I also want everyone to know before paying everyone is working no one is sitting around drinking coffee drinking beer or BullS***ing we are working so the timeline is out of our control it takes what it takes to get it done. If I start getting someone mad at week 10 saying they don't have their hood and start drama over he said she said BS I will Refund. I will go in depth as best I possible can here now.

Once the mold is done the delivery of the #1-10 hoods is next.

In the beginning a new mold is very hard to work with until we get it seasoned so progress is slow we always say a hood a week is built for the first 2-4 weeks then 2 per hoods built a week after week 4. We could see having an additional 6-8 weeks of build time on all 10 hoods. Now we know the timeline of assembly on all 10 hoods we match that with the design and mold 8-10 weeks gives us 15-18 weeks total.

Now lets say we have a Dec 1st start date. I feel we should be delivering product from March-April and have them all built at least the first 10.

Any new Orders after the group buy will have a much longer wait hard to even give a timeline. Xmas and Tax season we are typically 12 weeks anyway. I wouldn't wait if anyone is on the fence and you want to see these by summer show season I would get in now No Joke.

I'm sorry if I am a little blunt and I may come off as a jerk but I know what happens and what I have dealt with in the past and just try to keep my blood pressure down by avoiding certain comments pertaining to timelines and such LOL. I feel it's better to be straight up and lay it all out with NO BS to gain a sale not my style. I don't like holding cash and paying 10's of 1,000's of dollars with other peoples money then start getting accused of not delivering as promised. I do my best and have no interest in stringing people along not why I'm here honestly. I'm here to deliver everyone a really nice quality product and be fair.

I hope I explained it all well enough for everyone to understand. Please feel free to ask any questions please or call 239 691 7515 if I don't answer leave a message I am typically on one call to the next all day.

Thanks
Chad

+1 for the Hood and Lip in 100% CF. For me, it's all or none, if the hood doesn't get produced I won't need the lip. Thanks for doing this!!! Shipped in US

Ok so if the Aussie guys can get enough for a container how much are we looking at for cf/fg hood + fg splitter + shipping?
Instagram - troywsmith
I'm down to grab one but I am in Perth. I'm guessing one person will receive everything then distribute domestically an add local shipping to it as well? Would be keen for some more pieces too if a container is acquired.
I'm interested, but in a West Oz as well. Really comes down to if we can get enough for a group buy/container shipment. Shipping is the deal breaker at the moment for me, but if we get the cost down on shipping, I'm in for cf hood and splitter.
I'll address all the Above at once.
Lets put your name down so we can plan to get a pallet together and I know what will all be on it.
If anyone on board has a Forwarder lead in mind feel free to email me and I will get them the weights and dimensions of everything once we know who's in.
We will also have to work out where it is going and who will take it over once it hits land their.
I guess the first thing is to see who's in and hoe many parts we are talking about yes?

Put me down for a CF/FG please.
Take my money!
Got it:thumbsup:

Please PM me when it is time to pay I don't check th site too often but PM alerts me via email
No Problem!!

I want the lip also. Add the lip to my name also please. Decided last minute lol
