Re: CHE Sydney Custom Air Intake for 2014 SRT

I am interested in this CAI, any updates ?
Also, does this prove better than a short ram intake such as INJEN for hot climates ?

Re: CHE Sydney Custom Air Intake for 2014 SRT

Hey Guys

Sorry for not getting back to you with any update,

My father went into hospital early last week, and all my time has been down there.

I will catch the boys at CHE this afternoon and see where we are up too.

Will post later tonight once home from visiting,.

Thanks

Marc

Re: CHE Sydney Custom Air Intake for 2014 SRT

Not wanting to steal Marc's thunder but I could not help myself and gave CHE a call, who told me:
- Road testing was fine
- Expect to some Dyno tests etc next week then they expect the are right to go
- They said to keep an eye on this thread for more details

I'm a newbie to perf mods and asked about hydro issues with low CAI designs like this and they said "Common Sense" to avoid issues..... but "Common Sense" is not so common at time! (well for me). I take it there are some obvious stuff like don't try to drive through rivers but what is the real risk of such low CAI designs and how can you minimise this risk?

Here in Syd we get the occasional heavy downpours with some local road "flooding" (more large puddles), so how do you avoid issues or am I over thinking the potential issue?

Thanks
Nathan

Re: CHE Sydney Custom Air Intake for 2014 SRT

Nathan...avoid all that by installing a filter wrap or dry charger. K&N sells them and many others. they let air in...but keep water and dust particles OUT.

Re: CHE Sydney Custom Air Intake for 2014 SRT

Hi All,

Sorry, been way to busy lately between home and work.

Intake jig has been made, and i believe that there is a car getting one today as well.
So basically ready to be ordered from CHE.
Anyone interested, just let me know and i can pass on their details.

Sorry, first time on the forums in over 5 weeks.

Marc
