Chrysler Warranty Direct

Will the extended warranties you can buy from places such as chrysler warranty direct on their maximum care plan ONLY cover factory defects?
For example. Let's say my Uconnect screen goes out. Will they only replace if they can prove it was a manufacturer defect, or will they replace anything short of me punching the screen out?

The latter, well not anything, but all non-wear and yes your screen.

Re: Chrysler Warranty Direct

Dealership replaced the screen on my '15,BUT that was after two visits,on the 3rd,the screen WAS completely frozen again, but rebooting didn't work this time so they ordered and replaced. No issue since then.None.Strangely enough, was done under warranty, not the original 3/36,I am sure others with more knowledge can answer as to why. Also, didn't pay any deductible,so maybe paperwork incorrectly completed?and was done under 3/36?In any event,it WAS replaced under warranty.Other than that,no issues with my latest addition. 4 Jeeps in total.Hope my long winded answer is of some use.
If someone punched the screen out,you own it.My buddy had a shit fit when his newly installed dash cam wouldn't work(hadn't switched it to the 'on' position.),also, and I am sure others will correct me if I am wrong (probably am!) but if,by accident, you load long pieces of wood or such like and crack or damage the screen, you also own it.I guess,in essence,if one were to turn up at a dealership with a cracked/scarred screen, you would have a hard way to go to have it fixed under warranty.Again,if I am wrong, there are far more knowledgable people on this forum who could be more accurate.

Thank you. Do you know this for Chrysler Warranty Direct or did you use another similar one?
I see people using zeigler, but I don't see where they offer the warranty online

Great question. What you are buying, and what I and others base our answers on, is the official Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan that is exactly 100.0% the same (except for Lifetime transferabililty in FL and NC) no matter what CDJR dealer you buy it from since only actual retail CDJR dealers can sell it.

Chrysler Warranty Direct is the marketing face that CR Motor Sales in MI puts on their MVP sales effort. Ziegler's marketing face is Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans | Chrysler Factory Plans and Bob Cline there will know a hond or two off if you call or email him for a quote. Many of us have found individual deals that can be copied but these bottom deals all hover within $100-300 of each other including the 2 online above. BUT, these deals are $1k+ LESS than most dealers.

Most dealers also sell 3rd party extended service plans since they get paid more selling them but you should avoid them at all costs, IMHO...be sure every contact confirms they are selling you the official FCA Mopar Vehicle Protection (MVP) Plan.

Re: Chrysler Warranty Direct

My SRT is a week old and after detailing I found a wheel defect. My dealer says if they said something before I purchased they would replace otherwise I'm screwed!

Re: Chrysler Warranty Direct

Read over my lifetime contact and I'm disappointed that it says they may not honor the warranty if the vehicle is used in acceleration trials and other race jazz - uh, this is an SRT? You build in performance data and timers, so clearly the intent for this vehicle is to take advantage of the platform. I didn't buy a SRT to drive it like a CRV.

The wear n tear clause is also worrisome. How does one determine wear from defect? For example a lot of suspension parts are included in the warranty. How do I know what is covered?

I just don't want them to weasel out of my warranty contact I paid a lot of money for.

Best answer I can give is...as you point out one can "read into" the contract language to get the answer we seek at the moment so it's difficult sometimes to be swayed off our concerns...we all fall into this....the only real answer is "where's all the " they boned me" chatter? None, nada...seriously, all you'll really find on forums is stuff that ultimately was legit to deny and common sense to have not been covered.... That's for the legit FCA MVP plans, now third party, the forums are lit up on those screw jobs but to be fair there are plenty of good 3rd party stories too.
