Just got my SRT8 last Sat.
I love it!
My detail guy says there is a clear bra cut for front of the SRT8.
Has anyone had it done? I would think we will get a lot of
chipping out front.
I had a Pontiac G8GT with similar black metalic and it got
pretty bad after a while.
Pre-Cut invisibra is a tough fit sometimes and I have heard that is the case with the new SRT8. Try and find a shop that does custom cut - that is what I am doing and I think it will be worth it.
I was quoted $1,100 for custom, but that included removing factory installed clear bra in front of the rear wheels and making that area bigger, nose, mirrors and sides of windshield.
hood-12inches= $295.00 (I suggest removing 'jeep' lettering from hood for cleanest install)
frontbumper = $525.00 (That bumper is huge, & will use a lot of materials)
sidemirrors = $35.00 each.
You may want to protect the headlights. ($35.00 each) and possibly the grill. That is a detailed, time consuming grill. ($235.00)
When you say custom, will the wrap have visible seems/edges everywhere
or all or mostly tucked in?
With so many ins and out of theGC grill I would think tucking the edges away will be hard to do.
When I say custom, I mean they put the film onto the vehicle and then cut it by hand to match the seams and what not. There will be edges that can be seen. Most vehicles will have a kit that can be downloaded to the installers cutting machine and all they have to do is cut it out and place onto the vehicle. Custom they will have to use a big sheet and cut to match once on the vehicle.
I am taking delivery of SRT8 tomorrow. I had dealer install protective laminate to leading edge of hood, front fascia / lower cowling, mirrors and rear bumper. It had to be custom cut as there is no kit out yet for Jeep SRT8 for this particular product. Despite that, it looks 100% custom - perfect fit. http://autobahndint.com/home.html
i would take it to a tint shop that does 3m and get the front end kit put on ive got mine done and you barley notice it. stops rock chips. also tinted the driver and passanger windows while it was in with a medium tint lokks factory no tickets yet.
Had the front end of mine done, had to be custom the grill and lower part of the bumper/lip are the hardest parts to do, we paid $850 for it all, complete front end and all the way up to the hood vents and down the front fender edge. Most of the seems are tucked well there are a few visible but not bad. I have one bubble on the grill I need to get him to fix but overall its a nice addition.
I just did the same thing. The job came out great. Its very hard to see the edges. I also put a strip across the lower part of the hood.
One bubble spot remains on bumper. The installer will redo that part.
