Cold Start Smoke Puff

I have noticed a puff of smoke on cold starts only, has anybody else experienced this, is it the norm with these engines?

OK, started car up this morning after sitting overnight and no smoke and no smoke on subsequent cold starts, must have been something temporary.

Might be one of those "running in" type things. Also I do recall this being a feature of previous performance cars I've owned..
