Cold weather driving ....Brrrrr!!!!!!

It was -7 F here this morning, with a windchill of -34F. Between ice and packed snow, the roads were like ice rinks. My SRT8 started like and charm, and the Jeep with Pirelli Scorpions handled the ice & snow flawlessly. The 10" wheels and stock tire size don't seem to have any negative effect on the Jeeps ability to handle the snow & ice. The extra power of the 6.4L and the Brembos handle the slippery conditions just a good as my 5.7L Overland did with winter tires.

I've been very impressed with the SRT8's ability to handle our severe winter driving conditions (the worst in more than a decade).

Agreed... A great winter setup. Just wish the rest of the drivers would at least have decent tires and clean off their windows in those conditions

Same here. People are still driving around with 6-12" of snow on their roof.

The Scorpions paid for themselves yesterday morning. Roads were icy. I was travelling at about 25mph in a turning lane when an SUV pulled over into my lane about 15' in front of me. He didn't signal or even look. I slammed on the Brembos and started to slide towards the SUV. The Scorpions started to grip and I stopped about 3' from from the SUV. I'm sure if I'd have been running All Seasons, I'd have been wrapped around his rear bumper. It certainly got my blood flowing first thing in the morning.
