LOL, BuckeyeR/T, no, you posted a pic and it looked like half and half, like you did something to one side of the paint but not the other. What exactly are we looking at in that pic? Thanks!

Ahhh OK The half and half was when I removed scratches from my paint with a Dual Action (DA) polisher. I went to a car wash and the "brushless" system stopped right at my rear quarter panel and just kept spinning. It put some nasty scratches in my paint. In order for me to gauge how well I did at removing them I placed a couple of rows on tape on my paint (pretty common practice). Then I removed the tape to see how I did.

Re: Color Change of Black

Ok, cool, thanks for the info. So the right half of that pic was taped over so you could compare? You definitely did a good job I would say - it looks like a mirror finish although the flakes obviously make it less mirror-y, but that is surely back to factory finish now.. Thumbsup!! Maybe now that I'm getting a black vehicle again, the wifey will let me get a DA polisher?

Re: Color Change of Black

WK2jeeps still has it listed as Brilliant Black they should be a good trusted site since they were the first to post the actual pricing. Also Jeep.com has the color still listed as BB.

That's a new change. It has always said straight black before. The download link labeled future availability pdf on that page has black clear coat listed as the first option.

Re: Color Change of Black

They had Brilliant Black Crystal then went to Straight Black due to the shortage, then got it sorted and went back to BBC.

Re: Color Change of Black

Ditto, I would prefer Straight Gloss Black Clear Coat, but oh well, I will take Black Pearl. Maybe the pearl will have a lot of red and purple in it, those look better than green and blue IMHO.

Re: Color Change of Black

If I had the money to buy an SRT8... either new or old...

i wouldnt cry about the color because one of the first things I'd do would be vinyl the whole damn thing matte black.
