Re: Color Change of Black

Found some information on Pearl/Xirallic paint.

FOR THOSE looking for a "big iridescent sparkling effect," EMD has a new pigment line developed at its Japan R&D center. "Xirallic pigments are based on homogenous alpha-alumina oxide pigment crystals we grow ourselves and coat with titanium dioxide and iron oxide," Höner says. Though the pigments produce a coarse sparkle, the coated crystals are small enough to be incorporated into a 15-mm-thick base coat automotive paint. Coarser particles would produce a similar glittery effect but wouldn't allow for the smooth glasslike finish preferred on new cars.

Re: Color Change of Black

For those who have ordered, did you get a -X9 Black option on your order sheet? Just wondering what that means and why others are saying Black showed up as an option not a color... ??? Maybe this is the infamous black wheels option after all?

"-X9" is Standard on the Jeep. It represents the interior color code (black). It is also used together with the seat code, making a 4-digit code that defines interior seating and trim styles/colors.

"DZ" = "Leather Trim Seats w/Preferred Suede"

"-X9" = "black interior trim"

"DZX9" = "Leather Trim Seats w/Preferred Suede; black interior"

A couple more examples, codes that are used on the Overland:

"GLX9" ("Leather trim seats with wedge welting; black interior")

"GLXT" ("Leather trim seats with wedge welting; saddle interior")
