Re: Congrats JeepGarage and its members!

the childish boys on the red site are going to ruin this. I simply don't go there anymore because of their immaturity. Only will in the future if I need WK1 technical help. In all of my years of internet car forums, I have literally never seen a model specific forum where previous gen owners got so butthurt and defensive when the next generation was introduced. I heard in the thread announcing this event to them one person already "warned" Ralph that the vehicle isn't liked and he'll be entering a hostile arena.

Re: Congrats JeepGarage and its members!

Yea we all saw the butthurt by the old owners on that site, a lot of them were simply frustrated that their vehicle was now considered the old model, so what? That doesn't make it any slower less aggressive than it already is. Consider it a compliment that Jeep found the Wk1 SRT to be such a success they just had to make a new model to keep the success of its predecessor going.

Re: Congrats JeepGarage and its members!

^^ I can only image the banter about the 13.7 1/4 mile time over there. They also forget that an overwhelming majority of WK1's arfe modded with at least a CAI and tune. Lets see a fair comparison once the WK2 has the same. In fact, I'll be able to provide you guys that as soon as it is available as I am keeping our WK1.

Don't imagine it, it is real..... bashing going on as we speak.....

Myself and QuickOne will also do a comparo between his WK1 and my WK2 next spring on a real circuit.

I think his WK1 has an advantage as I don't think it is a entirely stock, nonetheless will be interesting to compare......all in good fun

You are exactly right Doc! Its ok....I have been promised an exclusive chat later in the winter when these badass rides are on the road!

It has been (or will be) acknowledged that we at JeepGarage got it together and are given appropriate recognition for it.

its called "new model envy" its normal and happenss with all platforms and makes. They say the older model is so much faster...but theres a thread there right now of an owner running 13.8 in 50 degree weather......the normal person doesnt get the low 13's they claim the wk1 gets.....

Thanks Bro!!! I as a gen. 1 owner do feel proud they made another. I was also screaming quite loud when they said no more SRT Jeeps, so you can imagine how elated I was when they did make them again. I will have both in my garage, but not until the mid cycle refresh and/or the price is agreeable. Even if it means waiting until '15 for a nice used one.

Schleppy, I've got time slips. Bone stock, no nothing, 13.2 all day long. Only the hard core die hard track addicts are mocking it. You act as if every WK 1 owner does nothing but race theirs. In fact their is only a handful of members there who do track them. Even a lot of heavily modded guys only go to the track to get a slip to say they have. In fact, I'm the ONLY Jeep owner on any site that I know of that races for points, bracket racing, not a slip. I race in point series when I'm off the boat and I race in car club leagues. When I'm not racing for a pt. series Im at the track practicing for it. I don't know if this changes your perception of "All" wk1 owners or your verbage of us, but I hope you at least take it into consideration.

You seem to have a guilty conscience for some reason, I do not know why. My comment you quoted was based on owners at the red site who have to consistently bash the WK2 SRT8 on its looks, performance, price. If you don't fall in to that group, then I have no issues. Remember, I own a WK1 SRT8 as well.

Which is why you should know not all wk1 owners hate the new platform, or are jerks about it. I think every regular gen 1 owner on this forum likes them as well. Not a lot of negative feed back on them here anyway. As for the red site, as you I'm sure noticed it is a core group of guys who don't like them. Considering the 1000's of members they have and the 10-12 who don't like them, that's actually a very decent ratio. There are some very die hard gen 2 soon to be owners who are taking the heat quite well over there. I have got to hand it to those guys for taking all the crap they do and keeping their chins up and proud.

As for my guilty conscience, not one bit. You seem to have implications that need airing. Feel free if there is something you would like to get out there. No reason to beat a bush when you can charge through it.
