Re: Couldn't wait any longer, bought C63 AMG

Obviously, just did't want a Jeep! For a couple thousand more you get less hp, about same mpg, less room, $200 oil changes. And, that's compared to a 2012 SRT. You do get a free rental car when your car is in the shop. I own a CLS63 AMG, love the car! As far as a waiting for a bigger Nav screen (do you really get lost that much?) Best mpg gotten with 7 spd tranny 18, jeep up to 21 mpg. 7 speed does shift smoother. As far as being a better manufacturer. This is my second Merc and both have had problems. This one they replaced heads @ 8000 miles. Oh, and Merc goes a half a second faster 0-60! Mercedes do not hold thier resale value either. If the WK2 holds it value as good as a WK1 that will be a good thing. No matter what, it's just a matter of opinion. And good luck keeping tires and brakes on it. Along with changing the brake fluid as recommended.

Congrats, the Merc is a fun car. My dad has a 2009 C63 AMG and that thing is a beast! You become one with the seat very quickly. He said he just got 22mpg going from Vegas to Cali in it, but then can easily get 9mpg when having some fun. He also has the "tune" for the C's, and almost a must have when you get it. It eats rear tires for breakfast tho, they came with very soft rubber and most only lasted around 6k miles before they needed replacement.

Wow some of the attitudes on here are disgusting (hemirunner426). Just because this is a Jeep forum does not give the dim witted people an automatic right to abuse a fellow member.
We are all car nuts and should respect each other a little more and not be a keyboard warrior.
You should all be happy you have a wide selection of choices and cheap pricing in comparison to the rest of the world. In Australia we pay around $180,000 for a C63 and we are expecting the SRT8 to be just under $100,000. Both are great cars for the few that can afford them.
Enjoy what you drive and respect our fellow car nuts.

Wow the resale on those German SUVs is terrible. I just traded a Ford with 82k on it for 45% what I paid new. A friend bought a Porsche Cayenne Turbo at 40k miles for 30% of the original cost.
