Re: Crackling noise when braking/turning ?

Hey that's similar to what I have !! Do tell me if you know what's causing it, might be an easy DIY.

Idk if this is irrelevant but I had the same squeak noise on my liberty every time I turned or over a bump it would do that crackle squeak noise I ended up spraying the seat track every nut bolt that was attached to it ended up doing the trick

I'd almost bet that's coming out of your seat track and/or frame whenever your weight shifts from acceleration/deceleration.

That didn't sound like anything electrical. That sounded like a seat track/frame creaking with the weight shift. Try this: just sit in your vehicle (don't drive) and shift yourself around in the seat--try to mimic how you'd shift during acceleration or deceleration. See if you can reproduce it that way. Even if not, I'd still lay money on the track or frame--I've heard more than a few of them doing it.

The rails are attached to the floor, and the seat frame is attached to the rails. Anywhere in the seat frame itself (covered by the leather but if you look up under the seat you'll see a frame under there) can cause the creaking. There are lots of metal joints in there to give the seat it's adjustability.

Re: Crackling noise when braking/turning ?

Peter_K - I tried adjusting seat to the front (full) and to the back (full) while testing for creaking and I still hear it. So this means its the frames and not rails ?

Re: Crackling noise when braking/turning ?

I just thought of something, can this be the spare wheel in the rear cargo ? It's hard to judge from the video you posted, but maybe that's the case ?
