Creaking sound on passenger front

Changed pads and now I'm getting a creaking sound from the passenger side front when braking slowly or just turning the wheel.... Jeep has 11k on it... Has anyone else had this issue?? Need to figure it out asap because I have a driving event on Saturday.

Re: Creaking sound on passenger front

Did you jack, or place jack stands, under the crossmember just behind the front wheels?

Re: Creaking sound on passenger front

Yeah the jack was just behind the front wheels.... Why?

Re: Creaking sound on passenger front

Sorry I'm still not clear if you used the correct jacking point, or did what I and others have. Read this thread... it will clarify with pictures:

Creaking sound from passenger side front wheel area. Dealer does not know cause.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Creaking sound on passenger front

Piece of mind and because it was a business expense. These were my reasons. I don't suspect there's any others that are more important, provided of course you have managed to bend it back adequately so it won't make contact again. I can't imagine it could cause misalignment of the components connected to it unless it's extremely misshapen, which I gather it's not.

Mine were just a bit deformed, but I simply didn't want another hassle down the track. I gather the parts are very cheap in the US, so maybe... if you could be bothered...

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Creaking sound on passenger front

I just want to say I have noticed this same sound and it too occurred after a tire rotation. I used the crossmember area as a jacking point so I could place the jackstand on the designated jacking point. I'll check out the other thread as it appears the two may be related. Thanks for the heads up!
