Curbed rim

So it finally happened, my wife accidentally curbed the passenger side front rim on our 2012 SRT8. Ill get some photos uploaded shortly but have any of you had experience with a repairing a curbed rim? Id like to know if these can be sanded smooth, then repainted or if I need to purchase a new rim. I was also considering having the rims refinished in black chrome like the Vapor edition. Not sure who can do this, Im in the Northern Los Angeles area.

Any tips or direction would be great. She is so bummed, my wife loves this car and hates this boo boo. Worst part about it is we can not figure out when or how she did this.... there is no visible marks on the tire only on the rim (In 3 places about 6" each). Thought about ordering a new rim but they sell for over $1000 each

Re: Curbed rim

There are guys that repair rims for a living. They can come to your house and be done in a few hours. I had 3 rims done on my Lexus for $125 each which i thought was expensive. Depending on the damage they don't even have to take the rim off your Jeep. Your dealer can probably arrange something too. Some can even paint the rim with that black chrome.

Good luck. You might want to invest in some curb feelers that the old G's used to sport on their rides
