AMEX used to offer full car purchase on their cards.
Since I don't travel enough, dumped the platinum as its too darned expensive unless you literally travel the globe.
However, if I recall, the use of a credit card for a vehicle purchase does not offer the same type of purchase protection you get for any other credit card purchase.
Heck, my dealer offered to take cash and fill out the IRS paperwork for me.
They offered a no deposit order, but pretty much everyone in the building knows me on a first name basis....
