Arrow Do you use FCW braking ?

POLL QUESTION - Vote above

So I was driving to work this morning and had to overtake a couple of slow cars in front of me, moments later my car did these two small automatic brakes thinking I wont squeeze through a gap. Thing is, this feature can be quite helpful in some dangerous situations, which is kind of stopping me from disabling it.

I will give it a few more runs, if it intrudes again heavily I will have to disable it, or maybe disable it at short drives and keep it for long drives.

What about you guys ? Do you use FCW braking ? Why or why not ?

Re: Do you use FCW braking ?

I disabled mine after a few days of the car thinking it can drive/judge gaps better than me!

Re: Do you use FCW braking ?

I just turned mine off today. I am a pretty late braker and it felt like the car brakes all of a sudden when I got close to the car in front of me so I thought this may be it. I am sure it is not. I will probably turn it back on but only because it is there and I don't want to say I should have had it on and didn't if I was in an accident.

In saying that though I am driving like Miss Daisy at the moment so when I start to throw this thing around and what happened to you happens to me it is coming off. I am not going to put up with that.

I use mine in bad weather at night or on the highway.

Re: Do you use FCW braking ?

It works quite well in single laned traffic, almost bringing the car to a complete stop. I turn it off in multi laned traffic, it is to intrusive when switching lanes amongst other cars.

Re: Do you use FCW braking ?

That's the thing !! It can easily prevent (or decrease severity of) an accident when it's turned on .. And I would regret it if it was off at the time it was required.

Re: Do you use FCW braking ?

Off.

Sumbitch caused me to drop a load in my boxers when it, along with the accompanying sirens/bells/whistles and screen alerts all went off.

Never again!!!
