Re: Done with the SRT - my story

Any updates from the OP?

I'd really like to see that piston....I want to know if it was the ring land that let go, or if it burned up.

Re: Done with the SRT - my story

I spent A LOT of time on the LX forums before coming here as I had my heart set on a 5.7L Charger or 300 until I fell in love with the GC, and there are loads of horror stories regarding adding FI to the 6.4L on the LX platform. For whatever reason the engine doesn't seem to stay together well under boost.

Re: Done with the SRT - my story

wow just had a quick read through , and very sorry to hear of your issues.
I had a similar situation with an 03 STi , bigger turbo blew up lean number 2 and then converted to a 2.5l 4000klm later leaned out number 2 piston again. so i got another short block fixed and sold . the ironic thing is i spoke to the new owner 2 years after and he had 1 issue i think it was a piston in the brembo failed but it never missed a beat.

good luck with your new monster truck, i love the raptors , i think we might see them here in Aus next year .
If you USA boys want a quick laugh check out the price we have to pay...

Re: Done with the SRT - my story

Not much of an update yet other than it is awaiting the transport company and will be heading up to Livernois. It will be torn down there and analyzed. And it will be rebuilt to handle the boost.

I dunno... maybe. Wife may drive it, I may decide I can't give it up and sell the Raptor. May keep both. In any case, she deserves to be built right; I couldn't bring myself to hack her back together and dump her on some unsuspecting fellow SRT enthusiast.

Re: Done with the SRT - my story

If I'm building the bottom end for my FI effort, it would be a 426 or 440 stroker. All premium parts of course. Lower the compression to 9.5 and run a bunch of boost...

I wonder how hard the 8HP90 swap would be....Hmm.

i would say good luck but a built nag1 will be stronger than the ZF. Not to mention the computers involved in ZF
