DRL out on high intensity

I have a DRL loom installed and have done for a year now, the other day the passenger side (left side in Aus) has stopped working totally on high intensity with the drl kit, but it works with the head lights on etc on low intensity, what do you think the problem would be ? a connection, diode or a loose wire, Cheers Dene

Hi Mate,

It could be a short inside the wire that you may require to slice it open and seperate the wire individually to ensure no short has occured.

headlight problem....led lights on bumper

I would start by looking at the DRL connection from the harness to the left side of the vehicle. You could place the vehicle in the RUN position and jostle the connection a bit to see if the light flickers to high intensity. This may tell us the connection is loose. if it is loose do not retap the wire but inspect to make sure the positap is secure and making a clean insertion point into the wire. If you installed the additional pins/wires you can simply make sure the postitap is making good connection.

Other than a bad connection on the DRL wire form the harness I wouldn't expect any other way for one side to work and the other not to. Also since the DRL ribbon works at low intensity I know they are still functional.

Feel free to PM me directly if easier or email at CLSmallwood @ gmail.com . I cleaned out my PMs.

Re: DRL out on high intensity

"Posi" and "connection" are an oxymoron
