Not for awhile. Unfortunately, the 2006 is away at college.

Re: Early Impressions

Great write up. I had similar initial impressions.

In regards to the transmission, I do wish there were more speeds, but by no means do I find the 5 speed a drawback. It is very refined and smooth when I compare it to my old 03 Laredo 4 speed auto A second point I'd like to make is that I have driven many of the new latest and greatest transmissions (my sister has the new BMW 8 speed, my mother the Mercedes 7 speed, and a few dual clutch boxes) and this box feels just as smooth as all of them. The fat power band on the srt does help the lacking in gears. But overall I really like it.

One final point, I have been driving Atlantics with true 5 speed sequential hewland racing gearboxes, and 5 speeds has always been more than enough ratios to drive on.

Re: Early Impressions

Could just be the camera angle, but the accelerator pedal looks like its bent a bit towards the brake pedal.

Next time you go to the dealer, have them install the gas pedal cover the correct way. Right now it's upside down.

Enjoy the SRT-8.
You have sharp eyes! The small pad should be at the bottom. I'll have them fix it. Many thanks. I never would have noticed this. Just goes to show the benefits of posting.

you can do it yourself. just pry it off with a screwdriver and put it back on the right way. The brake pedal cover is the one that is a real whore to get on. Should be a 5 minute job.

Re: Early Impressions

Great looking Jeep. Now I have second thoughts about buying a new CTS V coupe. I really like the Jeep now. Damn decisions.
