Re: Englishtown NJ race day 12.4.2011

i have spoke with wk1 srt's and there appear to be a huge variation of best launch procedure. my first run i left at 1500rpm. and i think the truck did not like that. i shifted with paddles at 5200-5300. second run i left from idle and paddle shifted at 5200-5300. both times were as seen above. both runs were in track mode.
there was another wk2 who ran 13.4, in track mode, he left from idle and let the truck handle shifts. so i am confused as to why my times were so slow.

any opinions from wk1 and wk2 guys is greatly appreciated.

chris

Re: Englishtown NJ race day 12.4.2011

Nice runs dude! Its a tad slow but many factors involved with that. Did you spin, what rpm's did you launch at and did you use the paddles? What were the temps and how well did they prep the track? Headwind or tailwind, how much gas in the tank and what psi you have the tires at, track mode or sport mode or auto?

So on any given day you could see low 13s or a 13 flat possibly, 7/10ths is a lot in racing. But then again, it's really not that much when you consider all the factors!

Only positive we have here in NJ is the DA, its just a good thing that doesn't change lol or we'd be screwed haha!

REGARDLESS - its just good to see an owner out using this thing LIKE IT SHOULD BE USED! Good work

Bummer. Maybe it will loosen up a little in a little with time.

I got a worst of 13.3 and a best of 12.97 by leaving in sport mode, turning TC off and mashing from idle (1500 on odometer). The 13.3 was when I first got there- so car was running "warm". The 12.97, and three consecutive runs of 13.0 were after I let it cool for 45 mins. car has gotten noticeably quicker since that time (over 5000 on it now) so looking forward to spring track opening...I see a 12.8 stock.

Re: Englishtown NJ race day 12.4.2011

with a little practice and some better shifts i was able to really cut some time off. not as fast as transam but as u can see the car was relatively warm, and i had a significant amount of gas in tank. on this run i also lost traction on the launch. so i am confident the truck can run 12.6's all day long as transam gets religiously.

but that's not possible, because the guys on the red site say so

Blows my mind how the same group of loudmouth idiots over there claim the EVIC is not accurate.....yet it has been shown in the WK2 consistently to be within 0.1 of reality. Not to mention, who has deemed every 1/4 mile track on the planet to be calibrated equally and "official timing?"

awesome!

wonder why the pro drivers that did all the mag tests were getting terrible 13.5-14.0+? Maybe not broken in trucks? Maybe detuned to not be faster than the other SRt's for testing?(my crazy theory...LOL) It seems that all owners who have tested their 2012's are getting pretty consistent times UNDER 13.0 and some better than that once they get more miles on the odometer. Pretty interesting......
