Factory paint issues

Has anyone had any paint issues at delivery? I just took delivery of my Bright White 2014 Jeep SRT and was very disappointed to find 2 locations where there are particles trapped under the paint forming a cluster of bumps. The most noticeable is on the front wheel fender by the windshield. I attached a pic. I am tempted to leave one area alone as it involves the paint on the drivers side A-pillar (it's not too noticeable). That part goes all the way to the back and do not want them opening the proverbial "can of worms" with removal and reassembly.

There were also 2 deep scratches in the headlight and scratches in the window trim. I showed the dealer and they are awaiting approval to fix it. Where is the quality control? Also, disappointed the dealership did not discover/disclose prior to delivery.

Otherwise, I absolutely LOVE driving. Only have 130 miles on and even the break-in period is rewarding. Can't wait to really open it up! I plan on keeping for at least 8 years (my generous/understanding wife says 10) and got the MaxCare lifetime warranty for peace of mind.

Any advice???

Re: Factory paint issues

Yes, paint quality is disappointing, I have a 1 month old Deep Cherry Red LTD, and it has a number of 'pimples' on the roof, one near the fuel cap and one in the middle of the bonnet. I'm not going to bother getting it rectified, but obviously the paint quality control is of a fairly low standard.

Agree there are some pre delivery quality issues, mine also had an issue with engine cooling that should have been picked up.
But that was six months ago for me, and these little issues soon fade as you come to realise the pure performance and driving joy you get out of these beasts.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a perfect paint job.

Thanks for sharing. While I share your grief over the paint issues, it is a little reassuring to know that it is something we have to accept. Still haven't heard from the dealer yet. It's been 4 days. I got a separate estimate to repair the passenger front wheel arch...$700. I'm in the wrong business.

Re: Factory paint issues

I too am really disappointed with the quality control of my Jeep. Chrys Co. is making some really beautiful products lately, but whoever is letting these vehicles leave the plant like this should be fired. The biggest downfall is the dealer network and head office. I'm tired of hearing excuses like we have to live with it. For the price we paid and its a new vehicle, I do expect perfection. I just had my driveshaft replaced under warranty and the zip tied my ABS sensor wire to the knuckle? WTF Here I am, seriously contemplating buying a Viper, but dreading the possible quality control issues and having to deal with the dealers afterwards.
