Question Faster times with Sports mode rather than Track ?

How come I get faster times when I'm on Sports mode ? I thought Track mode should provide better handling and launch power ?

This is only related to launching using the "Launch Control", so it safe to assume that any launch WITHOUT launch control along with Sports mode is faster than Track ? Which gets me to the final question, is Track mode only for better handling on bends and sharp turns ?

Hmmm. You're not the only user to report this.

However, in my case Track mode is without question the fastest. The shifts lag in Auto and Sport. I've also noticed that not all Track Modes are created equal. Some days it shifts lightening quick, other times it lags and hiccups. I'm no engineer so I have no idea what may cause that.

Re: Faster times with Sports mode rather than Track ?

We have tried all modes at the track in 4 2012 srt8 gc jeeps and found out the best mode is AUTO MODE in 1st gear launching at idle and let it shift its self.

Jim, when I try that according to the EVIC Auto is the slowest, then Sport, and Track is the fastest.

Have you tested '14s or only 12-13s?

Only 12 & 13 but we still have the 5 speed. When you use the sports and track mode you have to put it in D or manual shift it and some times in D it will short shift at 5500. The T/C works the same in auto and sports mode but track mode you can turn the T/C completely off but when i did that it spun a lot.

Re: Faster times with Sports mode rather than Track ?

You have me confused.....

how many miles?

So these times are in launch control?

Track is the ultimate, all out performance mode for the Jeep SRT.

0-100km/h, and yes, using LC.
